I didn't understand the reviews of the original narration being to young sounding. The original production sounded like a college student, the new production has no character and feels shallow. Male voices are HORRID. I think the people who reviewed the original narration as bad had it so wrong. If there are two separate productions already done they should offer listeners a choice of version to download. I am choosing to read the 2nd and 3rd book because this new version is so bad. Love the story though so I will take time to read instead of listening to these new horrid versions.

I gave it an hour just to see if it would get better, it did not, it got worse. There is nothing redeeming about this book at all. I have recently listened to the pride and prejudice zombie books and enjoyed them thoroughly and thought it would be interesting to take a turn on those period pieces in an erotice fashion. What a disappointment. I am not a prude and will listen to books with steamy sex, Lora Leigh, the shades of grey books etc are all in my wheelhouse and do not offend me, but this book had no redeeming qualities. The characters would just bump into each other and engage in sex, and the descriptions of the act where not even erotic or intriguing to listen to. Not worth a credit, I just lost an hour and I can't get it back. I have listened to hundreds of books and this is only the third book I have given up on.

The narrator managed to do a good job with horrilbe material which is the only reason I hung in there for an hour.

Stay far away from this one.

There is something about this series that just appeals to me and it has managed to maintain originality and not become formulaic and predictable. I love the political intrigue and action. On some level you wish that people lilke this really existed, someone that could just dismiss the political agenda and get to the heart of the issue in a very direct and sometimes violent manner, which is what makes this series such a pleasure to read or listen to. I am always sad when the book ends especially since I always finish it in a day or two. I find things to do so I can just continue to listen and then can't wait for the next installment.

The narrator as always is perfect, he adds just the right amount of drama without going overboard and is the real voice of this series.

It was refreshing to see Mitch get a little loopy in the hospital and let his guard down, it was a very interesting turn of events.

If you like the series, this entry is definately worth the credit once again.

I took my chance on this one since there were no written reviews, only star ratings. I was disappointed and that is why I am writing this review. The world the author creates is not highly developed, the canvas is blurry and painted with broad strokes, which does not hold my interest. The books I enjoy are filled with unique details about the universe and have charismatic characters that make me want to return for more when you finish the book, this was not the case at all with this book. I basically just struggled to get to the end to find out what happened, which was very predictable.

The narrator's voice was flat and you could hear him swallowing and wetting his lips constantly through the narration when he got tired. Would not have been too much of an issue if the book wasn't so boring too.

There are worse books out there that I could not even finish, but if I could go back and get the credit for something else I would.

This is by far one of my favorite books. It is a creepy, intelligent, nail biting thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you just a little scared to turn the lights off at night. The performance is awesome and actually adds to the intensity of the plot. The character development, action scenes and plot are very well developed. The story is a very original play on taking a character you normally would not like so much and finding yourself rooting for him to win against the evil that is terrorizing him. This is one of those books you keep handy to listen to again and again. I can't wait for his next book, Joe Hill is going on my list of favorite authors.

This is truly what a great audiobook is all about. This book is just simply entertaining and draws you into this dark and scary world. A well developed story and a stellar performance, I only wish more books were done this well, it makes it hard to go back and I find myslef listening to these books when I can't find anything else and I am bored with the same old formula books that are so predictable. I can't wait for the third installment.

This book in the series was by far was the most emotional and well developed love stories of the breeds stories. I felt and believed the emotion and agony of the main characters. Some of Leigh's books just contain filler between the sex scenes, this one was far better written and the erotic scenes were an evolution of the story and as always the love scenes are well written although very graphic, for those who enjoy the more subtle romance stories, this may not be your cup of tea.

This series just keeps getting better and continues to be interesting and maintain in depth character development. Narrator is good.
