An ex-con dubbed "The Folsom Wolf," James Marlow persuades his girlfriend, Cynthia Coffman, to travel across the country torturing, raping, and killing young women. But was James really the one who was controlled by Cynthia to carry out her master plan? Find the truth in this tell all! Written By A Condemned Man: I am a prisoner in San Quentin on Death Row. I love writing books as it passes the time in this dark place! I love writing poetry and am told that I am very good at it!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Nobody, it was so poorly written and so hard to believe any of it. The author wrote as if he were a poor innocent in it all.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not sure yet, I'll have to look through the library

Would you listen to another book narrated by John David?

Yes, he reads well, I just didn't enjoy this book at all.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from I Wish You Were Never Born?

Everything, it was so bad I couldn't even listen to the end - something I almost never do.

What if you were kidnapped, tied to a wall for a month, starved, humiliated, tortured and then they tried to murder you, but you survived? What stories would you tell of how you were able to survive and the struggles you went though? What if you went to the police and they did not believe you? What would you do to evade those trying to kill you and how would you bring the criminals to justice before they struck again? How would that change your life and the way you perceived the world and people?

What did you like best about Pain and Gain? What did you like least?

Knowing this to be a true story I found both the book and the narrative left a lot to be desired. What should have been a truly horrific experience came across like an old western where everyone involved acts tough and doesn't feel anything. I find it hard to believe that a man who would have been in so much fear for his life would be laughing to himself about how stupid his captors were. Marc Schiller seems so intent on projecting a tough guy image he doesn't portray the fear and terror he must have felt.

On the factual side I am astonished that so many people were aware that he had just disappeared and all his belongings were being sold off and yet not one person approached law enforcement. A very sad reflection on societies 'not wanting to get involved' attitude.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Totally disliked the fact it was read as if reading a gung-ho novel instead of a terrifying and sad life epic. I'm not sure if that's down to the narrator or the way the book was written by the author.

Richard and Victoria Tinyes feared the worst when their thirteen year old daughter Kelly Ann vanished from their quiet suburban community of Valley Stream, New York, on March 3, 1999. But the nightmare to come was worse than they could ever imagine. Only five doors away, in the home of John and Elizabeth Golub, police found Kelly Ann's body stuffed in a plastic garbage bag. She'd been brutally beaten, stabbed, strangled, and mutilated. After weeks of intense investigation, police arrested the Golubs twenty-one-year-old son, Robert - a reclusive young man obsessed with bodybuilding and given to fits of rage. The sensational trial and subsequent conviction of Robert Golub shocked the nation and tore the once peaceful community apart. Neighbors took sides. So did the media. And no one who lived on Horton Road would ever be the same. Note on audio book: Except for the beginning and end of the book, there is no longer any music.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. It had a habit of constantly repeating the same things over and over and over. It could have been much better written. I felt the author concentrated more on the animosity between the two families than on the crime, victim and investigation.

What about Greg Lutz’s performance did you like?

    Well read.

In and out of hospitals since birth, angelic nine-month-old Morgan Reid finally succumbed to what appeared to be Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Morgan's Texas-born mother Tanya, a nurse and devoted wife, pulled up stakes with her grieving husband Jim, and moved on. It was the best way to put the past behind them. Until their son Michael, a boy who by all accounts was terrified of his mother, began showing signs of the same affliction that stole the life of his baby sister.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The author kept quoting short comments all the way through that the characters had made which became very irritating. A general description of their opinion/attitude would have been better. Plus he kept jumping all over the place so not a smooth transition

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

No. The plot would have been interesting if written by a better author. The subject matter is an intriguing one but not documented well here at all.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Christy Lynn?

    Ye

    Any additional comments?

Chapter two wasn't edited so all the way through the whole chapter was the sound of the narrator clearing her throat, coughing, repeating clusters of words several times to get the correct intonation and making funny noises in her quest to get it right. How this slipped past the editor is beyond me. I nearly packed it part way through this chapter as it was very frustrating but hung on in the hope it was the only chapter like this. Luckily it was.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I normally love Peter James books but this was just too Science Fiction for me. I thought it would deal with the social side of this subject but instead it because way out there.

Has Perfect People turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, because it wasn't quite the genre I presumed it to be when considering other titles by this author.

Do you think Perfect People needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, the finish left it with nowhere to go with a follow-up

It is a case unlike any psychologist Dr. Alex Delaware has ever encountered. Five-year-old Woody Swope is ill, but the real problem is his parents. They refuse to agree to the one treatment that could save this boy's life. Alex sets out to convince Mr. and Mrs. Swope - only to find that the parents have left the hospital and taken their son with them. Worse, the sleazy motel room where the Swopes were staying is empty - except for the ominous bloodstain. The Swopes and their son have vanished into the sordid shadows of the city.

What did you love best about Blood Test?

I love the development of the main characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character, probably because we get to know him better than the others. He is tough but very compassionate and not afraid to show his softer side

What about Alexander Adams’s performance did you like?

Hi voice. LOOOOOOOOVE his deep timbre.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have but I buy my books to listen to when I go walking every day so it is done an hour at a time. I have just ordered Book Three in the series so that says something about my feelings.

Did Lizzie Borden really take an axe and give her mother 40 whacks and her father 41? She was acquitted, but controversy still rages over the century-old double murder case. This documentary digs for the facts.

What did you like best about Biography? What did you like least?

I found it all a bit iffy, nothing new learned. To be fair though, the biographer is obviously limited by the facts available but it made for a rather boring story in the end. I gained no new insight into the story at all.

What could A&E Television Networks have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    More research

Was Biography worth the listening time?

It was okay, it didn't cost much so I probably got what I paid for.

Where does When the Bough Breaks rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    One of the better ones.

What did you like best about this story?

It is an easy listening story, well written and easy to follow but enough intrigue to keep you interested. Very well narrated too, good storytellers all round

What does Alexander Adams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He read it along similar veins to the way I may have if I read the book myself.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No, just an enjoyable listen.
