Every day, we produce loads of data about ourselves simply by living in the modern world: we click web pages, flip channels, and shop with credit cards. Now, in one of the greatest undertakings of the 21st century, a savvy group of mathematicians and computer scientists is beginning to sift through this data to profile us as workers, shoppers, patients, voters, potential terrorists, even lovers. Their goal? To manipulate our behavior.

Stephen says: "Good but not the best of the genre"
"Liked it and learned a lot"

Lots of interesting information. I'm a non-fiction addict so this kind of thing is right up my alley. I’m in marketing (on and offline) so I was already familiar with some of what he covered. But the depth into the topic was good. It kept my interest throughout. I enjoyed it.

Here is the story of Jerry Weintraub: the self-made, Brooklyn-born, Bronx-raised impresario, Hollywood producer, legendary deal maker, and friend of politicians and stars. No matter where nature has placed him - the club rooms of Brooklyn, the Mafia dives of New York's Lower East Side, the wilds of Alaska, or the hills of Hollywood - he has found a way to put on a show and sell tickets at the door.

Ron says: "How could you not really like Jerry Weintraub??"
    "A fantastic ride!"

Wow. Lots of fabulous stories of rules bent, bullets dodged, and life lived well by a few simple rules. Beyond a flat show biz biography, it digs deep into what makes life so worth living. Granted, it's an autobiography. But I felt like I was sipping scotch with Jerry on the veranda. Just waiting for the next installment.
