Action - too long
Halfway house scenes -
I loved the narrators voices, I just didn't like the storyline - way to long of a book for this story. Was glad when it was over. Sorry.
Yes, because it was read by Elizabeth Smart herself. You can hear her voice inflections and emphasis on words I would most likely not.
Light At The End of a Dark Tunnel
What an amazing person Elizabeth is. For her to use her story to help others overcome horrible things is a tribute to her, her family, and to God. Thank you for sharing Elizabeth!
I've listened to several books on tape - this one was excellent. The women that read the story are fantastic - the views from the different women's perspectives are portrayed well, and issues are addressed with humor and satisfaction. This will make a great movie. I recommend this book.
I love the narrators, and the story is excellent - it's just that I got depressed listening to the hopelessness of the woman's beliefs. It would get wordy and I felt as if the author was trying to take me down the same road so many times - the pointlessness of life. I'm not sure I will finish this one. It's not uplifting at all.
Reviews said funny and I wanted a lighthearted funny read - found out it wasn't funny - it was dumb and a waste of time and money. I just can't even finish it.
This book kept my attention - made me root for the main character. It deals with sex abuse (not a light subject), but it was worth the ending. I recommend it.
The narrator did an excellent job. The story is amazing and true. It will touch your heart and make you see people and things a bit differently.
Narrator was excellent - I liked the plots and twists, though a couple might have been just a little over the top. It kept my interest, it has lots of humor and I will listen to it again later on. For some unknown reason, I kept having the feeling of deja vu. I feel like I've read this before or heard it or saw a movie much like it. I wonder if anyone else felt this? It was a very good listen.
I love the narrator! Don't know how to describe the book - at times I felt like I was getting a glimpse of what it would be like to be "crazy", and other times I felt like I was reading a sci-fi book. It has sarcastic humor which I found funny. It does have swearing if that bothers you. If you like sci- fi then I'd recommend this book.
I enjoyed listening to this book. Learned about a culture I knew little about and great story. I didn't want it to end.
