This was the first audiobook I have listend too by David Ignatius. After reading Body of Lies I became a fan overnight. David write with much detail and the plots themselves are very believable.

As for the narrator Firdous Bamji, compliments too. After having just listened to Da Silva's Portrait of a Spy which was narrated by a British person, it took a little getting use to Firdous' voice, but he did very well. Accents and characters were very well done.

When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

To be honest, I had never heard of the book before in my life. With my interest in dystopian worlds and lives, this book seemed like a good on to read. And it was. The narrator's performance was good and the storyline, as eccentric as it turned out to be, was very strong. This is no run-of-the-mill story, you will need to immerse yourself in the world and the style that it is written in, but when you do, be prepared for a mind-bending dystopia!

  • Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power

Rachel Maddow's Drift argues that we've drifted away from America's original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war, with all the financial and human costs that entails. Sensible yet provocative, dead serious yet seriously funny, Drift will reinvigorate a "loud and jangly" political debate about how, when, and where to apply America's strength and power - and who gets to make those decisions.

Rachel Maddow has a pleasant voice to listen to and her story is good. It is so good, that it will rock your foundation, your foundation being the way you have thought about your goverment in the past.

From doubling military budget, using private armies to bypass congress and the constitution, US leaders will stop at nothing to make sure that the American people will be at peace with being at war.

    Fantastic book!

Before he was considered a CIA superagent, before he was thought of as a terrorists worst nightmare, and before he was both loathed and admired by the politicians on Capitol Hill, Mitch Rapp was a gifted college athlete without a care in the world . . . and then tragedy struck.

This was my first Vince Flynn book in the Mitch Rapp series. I looked around on the internet to find out in which order I should buy the books, and American Assassin turned out to be the first.

The books is great. Good story, great tempo, there never real was a dull moment. So why no 5 stars? Simple, the last chapters were good, but the end of the story just seemed to be rushed.

Without giving any spoilers, the end, before the epilogue, it was pale in comparison to how the other action sequences were written.

Will it keep me from reading other Vince Flynn books? Nope. Just started on number 2 in the series (according to the timeline) Kill Shot.

    Happy reading!

I saw the audiobook before I found out that there was a book of the upcoming movie by the same name. If there ever was a cliche moment to shout 'the book is better than the movie' then I will gladly claim it now.

After having 'read' this book, I cannot imagine how they are going to cram in all the author's details into a 120 minute screen adaptation of the experiences (albeit fiction) of the Bandito squad.

The action scenes, the serious moments, all perfectly written and narrated by Steven Weber. If you haven't done so already, make sure to buy the audiobook or read the printed version before the movie is released, it will make the experience more authentic than any Hollywood studio can.
