Tess Gerritsen was a successful internist who left her practice to focus on her children and her writing. Gerritsen's medical suspense novels have consistently won critical and fan acclaim, and now, with The Surgeon, she delivers her most gripping work.

    "Couldn't stop listening"

This was a great book! I kept finding myself staying in my car to find out what happened next. It was suspenseful and well thought out. If you liked Silence of the Lambs, you'll love this novel.

Mary DiNunzio is a trademark Lisa Scottoline heroine - she's strong, she's smart, and she's got plenty of attitude. In recent years, she's become a big-time business-getter at Rosato & Associates, but the last person she expects to walk into her office one morning - in mile-high stilettos - is super sexy Trish Gambone, her high school rival.

    M. Devlin says: "A welcome return to Rosato and Associates"
    "entertaining"
    Overall

This book had a great story line and a couple of unexpected twists. I thought the first 5 minutes were so boring that I almost stopped listening, but once the main plot started it was much more entertaining. Just a warning though...the narrator overacts the entire time. If the narrator tends to make or break the story for you, you might not want to buy this book.

Alex Cross was a rising star in the Washington, D.C., Police Department when an unknown man gunned down his wife in front of him. His desire for vengeance was placed on hold as he raised his children himself. But when a case triggers a connection to his wife's death, Alex may finally have a chance to catch the killer.

    Terri says: "I'm cross too"
    "Yawn..."
    Overall

I finished the book just because I paid for it. If it weren't for that, I would have stopped in the first half. It was boring, lacked even a sliver of suspense, and had the most ridiculous villain. I think I'll take a break from Patterson for a while until he can come up with at least one twist to throw into his novels. There is one good thing about this book, at least it wasn't as bad as "You've Been Warned".

Just a warning that the audio is very poor quality. I couldn't get past the first 5 minutes because I couldn't understand what the narrator was saying.

Lauren Stillwell isn't your average damsel in distress. When the NYPD cop discovers her husband leaving a hotel with another woman, she decides to beat him at his own game. But her revenge goes dangerously awry, and she finds her world spiraling into a hell that becomes more terrifying by the hour.

    Sarah says: "Implausible plot"
    "Lots of twists!"
    Overall

This book is one of Patterson's best. It had so many plot twists, I couldn't stop listening.
