If you like Steven Tyler and/or Aerosmith, yes. Otherwise probably not.
I really enjoyed some of his writing and phrasing but I couldn't help but think this must be a really odd and uncomfortable read for his family and his daughters in particular. If nothing else, I know that what you see is what you get with Steven. He is a quirky rocker through and through.
Yes and I have. I loved the story and narration and being able to get lost in King's odd little world.
I haven't loved a Stephen King book this much in a long time. I highly recommend it!
I loved David Aaron Baker as the voice of Odd! He was perfect for no specific reason I can put my finger on but when I think of Odd Thomas, I hear his voice.
Odd is quirky and endearing and the narration of this book is spot on. Out of the series so far, this is still my favorite.
It is smart and engrossing and dark.
I LOVED this series! It was intelligent and had scenes that made me uncomfortable but it kept me reading. I loved the attention to detail and thoroughness throughout the entire series. I could not stop listening and made sure to go out and buy the hardcovers of these, too. I listened to the whole series quickly and then listened to it all over again trying to find hints and clues or little details that were off but this series was finished so neatly that it is kind of amazing really. Brilliant series!
I loved that the books were written for young adults but the author did not dumb down her story for kids.
The passion in her performance came through.
I really enjoyed this whole series and highly recommend them. Yes, there is some of the teenage "Who will she pick?" boy drama but it isn't played out in the typical way. There is a lot of substance to this book. These are destined to be classics.
I wanted to love this book more but I think it fell short when I realized this was clearly Part 1. I know trilogies have become really popular but this is one book where I felt like it could have been pushed further into one massively good read rather than making us wait. Then again, I could be just impatient. I only gave the story 3 stars but this may change once we hear the full story.
Smart, engrossing, unique.
Yes! I have found myself sitting in the car listening a little longer than I should in my own driveway and my workouts at the gym have slowed down since I am listening to this rather than my high energy music mix!
Especially after Fifty Shades of terrible writing, this has been a delight to read! The lead characters are intelligent and even though they (predictably) fall in love, it doesn't mean they immediately fall into bed together. A Discovery of Witches has been an engrossing listen and I am excited to start Shadow of Night.
