In Dana Stabenow's strongest novel to date, Aleutian P.I. Kate Shugak is hired by Charlotte Mauravieff to clear her mother's name. Twenty years ago, her mother was convicted of setting fire to the family home and killing one of her two sons, both inside the house at the time. Though the mother herself had accepted the life sentence without protest, Charlotte has always believed in her innocence.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Always a good mystery and great with the romance. The Narrator was pretty good. I've heard better but I've definitely heard worse. She wasn't monotonous and kept me interested. I haven't been up on all the series but had read a few of the earlier ones and 4 of the previous books and was looking for more electricity between Kate and Jim. Definitely not disappointed. Lots of fun.

In Alaska, people disappear every day. In Aleut detective Kate Shugak’s Park, they’ve been disappearing a lot lately. Hikers head into the wilderness unprepared and get lost. Miners quit without notice at the busy Suulutaq Mine. Suicides leave farewell notes and vanish. Not only are Park rats disappearing at an alarming rate, but so is life in the Park as Kate knows it.

    "Really entertaining"
    Overall

I really enjoyed this book. Great Humor, romance, quirky who dunnit twists and great characters. I had originally started this series on the 11th book and got hooked so I went back to the 1st one and have listened to them all. I've come to enjoy Marguerite Gavin's interpretations of each character.

Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first. Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind.

    "A worthwhile Voyage"
    Overall

A great story and great Narration. If not for sleep, work and family requirements, I would have listened to the 44 hours continuously. The words and story were so well written and narrated, not a dull moment. Laughter, passion, adventure... it's all there and well worth the time and money.

I hadn't ready any of the previous Dark Hunter books but it didn't matter. This one stood on it's own. You might think 23 hours is long, but the Narrator and the story were sooo good, it just flowed.

Suspense, laughter and romance bundled up in a very nice package. Susan Denaker did a great job with the narration, and brought the characters to life.
