Absolutely loved 'Liz'/Abigail. She made a great heroine. I can't remember the last time a character entertained me from beginning to end.
By the time the story concluded, I was wishing for a sequal.
Normally I really enjoy anything by Marie Force- but this not this time. I think this was because the narrator was not a good fit for this story. The main character (and all other female characters) came across as though they were still in high school. I found it (the performance) very annoying and ended up just wishing the story would end.
While the premise of the story was good, none of the characters were likeable to me ( Ellie was rude, Katie was a liar). The narration did not help this story. The reader's tone always seemed to come across as confrontational or as a know- it-all. On top of it all the outcome was obvious before I was half way thru the book. The story just went on and on and on and on...... I kept thinking just get to the point.
Over all I didn't care for Picoult's writing style. Way too many words and similes that added nothing to the story. It was almost like she's trying to let me know how deep and smart she is.
Could not wait for this book to end....This was my first/last Jodi Picoult audio/read.
IThis story was not as good as the others in this series. Not sure if itwas the story or the reader but at times, I felt like I really didn't like Sam (the main character) Instead of coming off as good cop, she seemed kind of self righteous and bitchy.
What was the big deal with Nick going on a secret trip on Air Force one? Was that simply a plot point for his conversation with the president? It seemed silly.
All in all the story kind of fell flat and at times felt disjointed.
I listened for approx 10 hours to a 'book' that had no story. The book droned on and on describing decor, shoes, and other inane details. Hard to finish.
Found it very difficult to listen this. The narrator is so bad that it actually takes away from the story(ies) -
Listening became a chore.......
Main character had no common sense.....She is being watched/stalked, has a gun stolen from her house and wonders if she should call the police?
I find Tami Hoag's writing style very engaging.
Parts of the book made me want to continue- a couple of parts bordered on ridiculous and made me LOL(don't think it was the author's intention)
The main character experienced so many life threatening situations, it was ridiculous.
I could not finish this book. I felt there was no story, only the ramblings of a lunatic.
anything not a part of this series
no favorite- as I could not finish the book.
