Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book if you enjoy action based stories that centers around relationships of individuals working together for a greater good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I thought all the characters were well developed as individuals. They seem like real people.

What does Suzi Dougherty bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I truly enjoyed hearing the book read in a real Aussie accent. It made it seem even more real, as if I were watching a movie instead of reading a book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I was lucky in that I got to enjoy the entire book during a long road trip. It made the time pass so much faster, and an otherwise long boring trip was a pleasure.

A mysterious incident in Russia, a blip buried in the news - it’s the only warning humanity receives that civilization will soon be destroyed by a single, voracious virus that creates monsters of men. A lawyer, still grieving over the death of his young wife, begins to write as a form of therapy. But he never expected that his anonymous blog and journal would ultimately record humanity’s last days. Governments scramble to stop the zombie virus, people panic, so-called Safe Havens are established, the world erupts into chaos; soon it’s every man, woman, and child for themselves.

What made the experience of listening to The Beginning of the End the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed this story. I just finished Until the End of The World series by Sarah Lyon Fleming and was looking for something along those lines to read next. While I'm not a big zombie fan I am a big end of the world survival fan and this story was just the right mix. It takes place in Spain and is a diary of a young lawyer who survives and his struggle to stay alive and keep his only friend, his cat, alive too. It is very fast passed and not overly gory or vulgar. His adventures trying to save his cat add a bit of comical relief that had me laughing at times.

What other book might you compare The Beginning of the End to and why?

This book is similar to Day by Day Armageddon book 1 and 2. The Sarah Lyon Fleming series is still my favorite, but this book is just as enjoyable.

What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator does an excellent job with all the characters. Very easy voice to listen too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I don't know who would like the book. The story didn't flow, events didnt make sense, not believable and characters were dull. Maybe kids.

What was most disappointing about Ginger Gelsheimer and Taylor Anderson ’s story?

The story didn't flow from one event to the next, and the characters were dumb and were unaffected by the supposed horrific events

Cassie Forrest could almost believe life at Kingdom Come Farm is perfect, with Adrian and her friends at her side and spring on the way. The spring thaw also means millions of defrosting zombies, however, and if the past year has taught her anything, it's that life in this new world is highly imperfect. When Safe Zones throughout the country begin to disappear and the zombies at the fences grow in number, Cassie clings to the hope that if she has the people she loves most, it will be all right.

Would you consider the audio edition of And After to be better than the print version?

I do enjoy the audio version of this series better than the book because the Narrator just brings each of the characters to life, and she does such a great job. That said, the third book in the series isn't out in audio until April, and I love the series so much I am reading the third one, but I will get the audio and listen too it too, and I can't wait.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I still love Cassie, the lead, she is a person I would want to know, I would want to be.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

In this book I love Cassie, Zeke, Nelly and Peter.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me cry several times, heart breaking. It also made me laugh out loud. One of my favorite lines comes from a scene where they are trying to cross a body of water and it is very dangerous and Cassie asks Nelly if everything is ok and he responds "Operation We are all going to die is a go from here." So funny. I am also listening to this book a second time because the stressful scenes are so intense I couldn't get everything that was happening.

    Any additional comments?

When I first started this book I was a little worried because I had read that others didn't think it was as good as the first, and it does start out slower than the last book ended, but it was fantastic. The author just does such a great job with her characters that you grow to love them and become very involved in what they are going through during. It was a great emotional, scary, happy, sad, exciting adventure and the author weaves such a realistic story that it really feels like these things could happen. The sacrifices the characters make for each other makes you hope that if you were in the same situation you would be strong enough to do the same for the people you love. I am a big fan.

Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

What made the experience of listening to Until the End of the World the most enjoyable?

The narrator does an amazing job with all the character voices and it just brings the story to life.

What did you like best about this story?

This story is fantastic. The characters have such individual personalities and their interaction is so real and loving and funny that you become attached to each of them. It is an emotional, scary, happy, sad, funny story and I just can't get enough of it. I'm not a super big Zombie story reader, but I do love the Walking Dead because of the character inaction, and these stories are better than the Walking Dead.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

I loved Cassie, her best friend Nelly and Ana. Julia Whelan does a great job with all the characters. I don't know how she keeps them all straight, but she does.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved throughout the story by the sacrifices the characters made for each other and those they loved, and the way their were able to keep their sense of humor even amidst dead and destruction. How they made the hard choices because of those they loved.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was a fun story, a little long and dragged out, but good idea about time travel and who Jack the Ripper could have been in a world filled with shape shifters, time travelers and vampires. The author did a good job of creating a mystical world right within the world we all know.

Have you listened to any of Em Eldridge’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Em did a really good job with the different character voices and accents. Very enjoyable.

What made the experience of listening to The King's Curse the most enjoyable?

I love how Phillippa Gregory takes the known facts about events and weaves them into a completely believable story. The intensive research she did really shows in her work. I learned things I never knew about good King Henry.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The King's Curse?

There were lots of memorable moments in this book. It is hard to believe the events were all the result of one woman's life, it was more like a day time soap opera, with a lot more violence and death.

What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I always enjoy listening to Bianca Amato's performances. She has a very good voice that brings the characters to life.

In this short audiobook, a retired detective reopens this cold case and attempts to piece together the evidence and answer the great mystery about what really happened to the young Princes. Were they really murdered? If so, what happened to the bodies and who did the evil deed? Or were they left unharmed and left to live out their days in peace? Was a challenging offered up in place of Richard, Duke of York by Elizabeth Woodville and was that why Henry VII was so concerned by Perkin Warbeck?

This was a unique approach to solving the age old mystery of who killed the Princesses in the Tower. I enjoyed that the author conducted a police investigation to come to his conclusions. Very interesting information and good research.
