Acclaimed author Michael J. Sullivan created instant best sellers with his spellbinding Riyria Revelations series. This first volume introduces Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater, two enterprising thieves who end up running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Trapped in a conspiracy bigger than they can imagine, their only hope is unraveling an ancient mystery - before it’s too late.

When you have gallant swashbuckling heroes Royce and Hadrian, a bright underestimated princess and a waif for the unexpected heroine, plus a wizard and a mythical creature, it all adds up to a great listen.

Fun, energetic, just the right amount of suspense and surprises. I enjoyed it and have already downloaded the next two books in the series. I had to order those via Amazon to Audible.

Lacey Yeager is young, captivating, and ambitious enough to take the New York art world by storm. Groomed at Sotheby's and hungry to keep climbing the social and career ladders put before her, Lacey charms men and women, old and young, rich and even richer with her magnetic charisma and liveliness. Her ascension to the highest tiers of the city parallel the soaring heights - and, at times, the dark lows - of the art world and the country from the late 1990s through today.

This is an interesting look at the life, motivations and character of an ambitious young woman. The reader is also treated to an inside look at the workings of Sothebys auction house. My book-club read this Steve Martin gem, everyone enjoyed it but no one liked the the main character . Although she is a beautiful girl on the outside she is less so on the inside. Selfish and ruthless she uses and discards people who care about her.

The audible listener should look up the pieces of art that are referred to in this book. It is fascinating to see the actual works that are described and are an important element.

This book rates way up there with the best I've read. It's a terrific second installment. I too, like others have mentioned in reviews, struggled a bit with the first few chapters . I am so glad I stuck with it because it evolved into the amazing continuation of The Passage.
It is a deep, complicated and huge story. I loved it and am thrilled that there will be yet another part to this amazing trilogy.

When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

What did you love best about The Casual Vacancy?

The realness of the characters and fascinating story of their lives after an event that affected them all in different and unique ways.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    I didn't have a favorite character.

Have you listened to any of Tom Hollander’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but I enjoyed his narration very much. I love the British colloquialisms and sense of humor.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It built and built and came to a crescendo that I didn't anticipate.

If you could sum up Dance of Death in three words, what would they be?

    Suspenseful, original, satisfying

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dance of Death?

I don't want to give away any of the terrific story line, but the reader really gets to know some of Pendergast's history and mysteries.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Oh yes, Ive listened to numerous book narrated by Scott Brick. I enjoy his style and his representation of Pendergast.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    I couldn't put it down

    Any additional comments?

This one came with a short story ' Extraction' that focused on something that was alluded to in 'Dance of Death'. While listening to many of the Pendergas books the reader is tantalized by an incident referred to in Pendergast and his brother's history. 'Extraction' is an amazing, imaginative clarifying story that gives the reader a satisfying understanding of what happened when the boys were young. I have always wanted to know more about the true origin of the hate that Diogenes has for Pendergas. This delivers....

A mystery with rough characters you end up rooting for. I liked it and will look for another novel with the same main character. I hope that happens.

After I read "fifty shades" I was reading the reviews. Someone suggested this book was a much more interesting read, better story development and much more sexy.

It is totally different than Fifty Shades, more grown up, less in your face but completely tantalizing and riveting. The writing is wonderful, perfect narrating from Susan Ericksen and wonderful old style language that is so entertaining and clever. I highly recommend it.

Yep another good one from Jo Nesbo. A chilly read full of twists and turns....lots of despicable characters. More self destruction by our lovable idiot Harry Hole... but his mind is so clever ..its the most appealing thing about him.
