"Well written. Well Performed."
Story is captivating, characters are interesting and the narrator is very good. I've spent a lot more on books that weren't as nearly as good.
A snowball fight in the forest.
Very engaging voice that can effectively relay all of the emotions.
"Great plot, strong characters & skilled narration."
No. I only listen to books once.
Many others - can't recall names.
No, but I will listen to more.
Several moments, quite frankly. The writer has a skill for capturing life moments that we all cherish.
"Good plot. Narrator lacks."
Yes, for Monica McCarty. Not necessarily for Roger Hampton.
Interesting and intriguing plot with great characters. This is my fourth book written by her, all of which have been great.
Roger's voice is not right for this book. It either needs a deep male voice for the rugged highlander or a female voice for the enchanting lady to make the story believable. Roger's tenor voice doesn't do either of the main characters justice.
His voice also lacks passion and fails to emphasize the key emotions in the book. His voice during the scenes of passion reminds me of an aloof person who is filing their fingernails while impassively tolerating the attentions of their partner.

McCarty's audio books, in general, could benefit from stronger narrators.
