This book is a farce-novel: Normal situations that quickly evolve in a farce. If you enjoy this type of humor, then it's a great listen. Narrator was good, not great but nothing disturbing.

Good read. Humorous and very factual. It's a dry humor, not gut laughing like in her other book: Packing for Mars. Unlike PFM the story is told in a linear fashion with out annoying detours to foot notes. This makes for a great read.

Recommended to those that like the weird and unusual facts like: crash-test-cadavers where diapers to prevent 'leakage'.

It's read very well, but the recording has a nasty hiss in the background. It's not overpowering but is distracting.

None the less I'd recommend this book.

I bought this with apprehension. So many books try to capture the reality of the situation. This book however made it seem very plausable. Excellent performance makes this a darn good listen.

Very enjoyable. Nice location (Africa) made it feel real rich in texture and a unique point of view of the protagonist. The ending was sating. The narrator was able to instill the accents of the characters which brought it all to life.

Excellent information, very funny too. Unfortunately it is composed of a large number of footnotes which doesn't translate well into an audiobook. Very start/stop story telling.
Shame though as it was well read and the material was interesting.

This story always felt it was going somewhere but ran out of time because anything was actually done. A lot of pontificating and very little action. Not very magical at all. The reader however was excellent. Good clear solid voice.

Once again, the critics love a book and it leaves me completely cold. A seemingly endless journey where characters change little and spend more time talking about it instead of doing.
