Loved the concept, liked the story. The story draws you in and you really can't quit till the end. My Only complaint is that it was a little to long and there was way to much of the same
situation happening over and over. Got on my nerves a couple of times.
That being said, I did like the story

Even in Empire City, a town where weird science is the hope for tomorrow, it's hard for a robot to make his way. It's even harder for a robot named Mack Megaton, a hulking machine designed to bring mankind to its knees. But Mack's not interested in world domination. He's just a bot trying to get by, trying to demonstrate that he isn't just an automated smashing machine, and to earn his citizenship in the process. It should be as easy as crushing a tank for Mack, but some bots just cant catch a break.

Over the top stereotypes are something this author does exceedingly well. Narrator was well chosen. Characters are fun. Story puts together a forties feel with a science fiction spin. Great listen.

Emperor Mollusk. Intergalactic Menace. Destroyer of Worlds. Conqueror of Other Worlds. Mad Genius. Ex-Warlord of Earth. Not bad for a guy without a spine. But what's a villain to do after he's done... everything. With no new ambitions, he's happy to pitch in and solve the energy crisis or repel aliens invaders should the need arise, but if he had his way, he'd prefer to be left alone to explore the boundaries of dangerous science. Just as a hobby, of course. Retirement isn't easy though.

I found myself laughing out loud over and over. A lot of tongue in cheek humor. The characters are so surprising and endearing. I will be listening to this book again!

Liam Mulligan is as old school as a newspaper man gets. His beat is Providence, Rhode Island, and he knows every street and alley. He knows the priests and prostitutes, the cops and street thugs. He knows the mobsters and politicians--who are pretty much one and the same. Someone is systematically burning down the neighborhood Mulligan grew up in, people he knows and loves are perishing in the flames, and the public is on the verge of panic.

My headline pretty much says it. Liam is a old timey type of reporter with many colorful characters in his life. The story is fun because of the people in it. The plot is not totally inspired, but again, the characters make it great .

This Lovecraft classic is a must-have for every fan of classic terror. When a geologist leads an expedition to the Antarctic plateau, his aim is to find rock and plant specimens from deep within the continent. The barren landscape offers no evidence of any life form - until they stumble upon the ruins of a lost civilization. Strange fossils of creatures unknown to man lead the team deeper, where they find carved stones dating back millions of years. But it is their discovery of the terrifying city of the Old Ones that leads them to an encounter with an untold menace.

This book was very much a page turner at times, but overall fell a little flat. I would still try another Lovecraft, as a matter of fact I have. This just wasn't my favorite.

To put it simply, I'm not really crazy about the main character. She comes off very naïve, a little bit simple and blames herself for things clearly not her fault. If it was done once or twice, okay but it was through out the book

Lenard Sikophsky’s father has been feeding him plutonium since the age of six in the hopes of making him the world’s first bona fide superhero. First, he must pass the unusual tests of manhood locked in the centuries old tomb, The Manaton, a secret relic passed down for generations. Falling in love with the beautiful, compulsively suicidal Laura Moskowitz doesn’t make his life any easier.

The storyline describes the making of a super hero. While this much is true, the way the father goes about it is nothing less than abusive and creepy. I do not like any of the characters. Everyone one of them come off as stupid.
I do not like the way they talk about women being a mindless object owned by man only good for giving birth.
Some reviews claim that this book is funny. Wow, a bunch of abusive idiots are funny? Not in my world.

After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he's still in good health, and in one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.

Stacy Justice is your average small-town reporter...who just so happens to be a witch. She’s never had the time or patience to mess around with the magic her grandmother and great-aunts are into, even though Grandma says Stacy has a higher calling. Right now, Stacy has stories to cover, her cousin Cinnamon’s bar to help run, and her cute cop boyfriend and flatulent Great Dane to keep her company. But when someone sets Cinnamon’s bar ablaze - almost killing Stacy in the process - the green-eyed redhead will have to embrace her inner witch after all.

Cute story line, but I get the feeling that she wants to have some quirky/different characters but she doesn't pull it off,
It was an okay story, but I wouldn't buy it again if I were given the choice.

Wow what a new take on Cinderella. If you love science fiction with a true evil Queen this is for you. The Cindrella in this book is totally the most creative take on Cinderella you'll ever come across. Great concept, great story.
My only problem with this book is the ending. There isn't one. I know it's part of a series, but I like at least a clean ending point. The ending literally left you in the middle of the action.
I still would reccomend this as a great read.
