I would recommend you actually read the story rather than listen to it. It's a childishly written and expressed romance of the old west. Way too much repeating of individuals thoughts and feelings. It's good for a 12 year old!
The first half of the book is one long boring sex scene, the second half has plot, but way too much repetition. The narrator, Luke Daniels, distinguishes voice and emotion by mostly yelling the lines. I was initially attracted to the story because the subject of energy healing on wounded seals sounded cool. I was so disappointed I am returning the book - I don't do this too often. Not really worth your credit. Try the series that starts with "Prince Joe" about a Seals team instead.
Another interesting case, and I love the narration, but when will Dallas have a baby?
I believe the narrator speaks so slowly that the story is longer than it needs to be. Also, the writing is too repetitive and takes too long to get to the next part of the story. I will be returning this book and do not recommend it to anyone else - not even die hard fans of historical romance or the highland lairds.
If you like descriptions of sex and not much story, you'll like this one. I'm a little disappointed that there wasn't more of a story. Narrator is okay.
I usually love Susan Duerden as a narrator for historical romances. However, her inability to do the male voices in this book as other than scraggy and shouting, is very distracting. I think they need to choose another narrator for this series. Simple, idealist story.
This novella is just as powerful as the regular novels in the series. It's worth the credit.
The narrator was good, and I enjoyed what plot there was, but it was mainly an erotic novel. So if you want to hear about sex, this is your book!
While the story itself is interesting and the narrator as great as always, there was too much repetition in expressing ideas, opinions and arguments. Perhaps an abridged version would be preferable this time.
Another great story by Brandon Sanderson. It's humourous, adventurous and thoroughly captivating. I can't believe I have to wait a few more weeks for the rest of the story. Get ready to be entertained!
Listen to this one. Lee Child's stories are meant for Dick Hill to narrate. This story is even better than the last one. This series is one I won't stop following.
However, as a mom and a family person, I felt so sad that Jack moved on from this partner. I hope, at some point in the future, Lee provides Jack with a feeling of attachment, a resting place for such a great character, where he doesn't have to fight and defend any more. Jack Reacher, come home.
