In his unmistakable voice and with an insider's eye on history, former Vice President Dick Cheney tells the story of his life and the nearly four decades he has spent at the center of American politics and power. In My Time is truly the last word about an incredible political era, by a man who lived it and helped define it - with courage and without compromise.

Rafe Caradec—gambler, wanderer, soldier of fortune—was as hard a man as the battlefields and waterfronts of Latin America could fashion, but he was as good as his word. As Charles Rodney lay dying in a dank ship’s fo’c’sle, Rafe swore to make sure that Rodney’s Wyoming ranch went to his daughter, Ann. In Painted Rock, Wyoming, Caradec found land for a man to love, miles of rolling grasslands and towering mountains.

This was a well developed story with all the hell and brimstone we expect, but the story was well developed and terms correct with the period.

Colonel Utah Blaine, held captive by the Army of the Revolution, broke out of jail and headed north from Mexico with nothing but the clothes on his back. Then he found new trouble struggling at the end of a noose - and stepped in just in time to save the life of a Texas rancher. The would-be executioners were the rancher’s own men, looking to steal his land.

What did you like about this audiobook?

Have not read the print version of this book

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

This book ties Don Rumsfeld "Known and Unknown" and Dick Chenye's "In my time" together. I have found it better insight than any history course could have covered.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

President George Bush related the major decisions of his presidency, but included all the related issues that weighed in the decisions.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Mr George Bush does not have the speaking voice of Donald Rumsfeld, but his voice added to the performance and naritive

Do you have any additional comments?

It does not matter if your from his political party, You will get a lot out of this book!
