Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I loved the movie Narnia however I just could not stay interested in this audio book. It was too whimsical or fairy tale for me. I found Lynn Redgrave's accent a bit annoying. At times she was tough to understand.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No, but I'd watch it for free on TV.

In the tradition of the best writing on medicine, physician and reporter Sheri Fink reconstructs five days at Memorial Medical Center and draws the listener into the lives of those who struggled mightily to survive and to maintain life amidst chaos. After Katrina struck and the floodwaters rose, the power failed, and the heat climbed, exhausted caregivers chose to designate certain patients last for rescue. Months later, several health professionals faced criminal allegations that they deliberately injected numerous patients with drugs to hasten their deaths. Five Days at Memorial, the culmination of six years of reporting, unspools the mystery of what happened in those days.

What did you love best about Five Days at Memorial?

The story was delivered in a very unbiased and informative manner. The fact that the author left her own prejudices out of her reporting is an absolute mark of a great investigative reporter. I loved how she built her characters giving us an idea of who the people were before the tragedy.

What does Kirsten Potter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is well spoken, easy to listen to...her voice and tone are pleasant and engaging.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had to keep listening because I had to know what happened next....what did these people do...how did they cope...I kept trying to imagine what I would do in this situation. I love the survival mode genre because it exposes how humans react in extreme situations.

    Any additional comments?

A must read for those that need an engaging story from page 1.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I listen to books going back and forth to work. I couldn't stop listening. I had to find out if losing 10 years of your memory was enough to put your marriage back together! Best audio book I've listened to in some time!

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Alice ...then her sister next!

What about Tamara Lovatt-Smith’s performance did you like?

Loved her accent. Wish she could have differentiated characters a bit more...sometimes got confused on which character she was.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    When she finally remembers Gina.

    Any additional comments?

Don't miss this listen, girls. Guys, you might find this book interesting if your marriage is failing.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.
