I am brand new to this series and to be frank, picked this one bcause it was the longest!
I can't remember when I have been so interested in a story. The narrator is excellent, and has a variety of different vocal styles to keep things interesting. I loved the character development. The only thing I gotta say...a Puerto Rican accent is NOT like a Mexcian American one. But that's a small indiscretion. Thanks ... I will be picking up some more Joe Pike and company stories.

This book is an amazing look at co creation, and how the loving and fearful parts of our personality affect our actions, worldview, and ultimately, Authentic Power.
I also heard about becoming Multi-Sensory as opposed to 5 Sensory individual, something I've also heard from Sonia Chouquette. The book has given me a whole new paradigm for my successful field in real estate, giving me an opportunity to look deeply at intention, authenticity and again,co-creation with my clients, friends, family, and self. Jeanette's use of humor is her way of handling often difficult situations with grace and candor. I am enjoying her very interesting although sometimes painful story of growing up "odd" in a time when it was considered...uncool. Her autobiographical story of a an adopted girl who was deprived of books and ended up going to Oxford, brilliantly shining, the shine tarnishing, and somehow developing even now, a new patina. Love her conversational style of writing and bright wit.

Yes, I'd recommend this to any one who is young of heart, or could use a good laugh.

I love the freshness of listening to something say out loud what I would probably be thinking. Her humor is self-deprecating and pointed. I really enjoyed hearing anecdotes about the various cultures, especially the Italians with their 10 cups of black espresso daily while living with Mama until well past the age of 40. Like that.

Her voice delivers the story in a natural speaking voice.

I think it would make a really funny and interesting movie, with all of the changes in locale, people, and rustic living conditions. Loved it!

is killing me. I know it's supposed to be a great book, but I simply cannot get past the accent. First time, for me.

I love her work, and looked forward to more of Dr.Estes spoken word since buying Women Who Run With The Wolves many years ago. I have The Beginners Dream Interpretation and one or two others.

This was a bit of rehash for me. Her gorgeous mellifluous voice felt very precious towards the ends...a bit contrived and I lost interest.

I love Italy, Italians, Italian food, the language. I wanted and started to enjoy this book but the narrator's voice became more monotonous every time I restarted the listen. Stick to Lilly Prior's La Cucina for a fabulous Italian story, and wonderful narration, or Peter Mayle's Provence if you want to stay awake, and laugh.

I was thoroughly enchanted and amazed at this book. Charmingly told story that combines the English expatriates' observations on their move to the countryside, and how they became one of the French locals one funny mishap at a time. I've heard it several times, and I totally recommend it.

This is my first experience listening to the narrator, and the first time I've "read" or heard anything by the author.

It was wonderful! I've listened to it over and over.
