Lizzy Tucker’s once normal life as a pastry chef in Salem, Massachusetts, turns upside down as she battles both sinister forces and an inconvenient attraction to her unnaturally talented but off-limits partner, Diesel. When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his 20-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust.

If you could sum up Wicked Business in three words, what would they be?

    Down Right Hilarious!!!

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

I just have to pick one? I loved them all. I love Lorelei King. She is by far my favorite narrator. You can easily tell which character is which which makes it easier to follow along.

    Any additional comments?

I love how funny this book was. Lorelei King does an excellent job narrating. I cannot wait for the third in this series!

It began on New Year's Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world's population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magic rose up in its place. Some of it is good, like the witchcraft worked by Lana Bingham, practicing in the loft apartment she shares with her lover, Max.

First, I don't see how this classifies as a Romance Novel. It's more like a suspense novel with a very small amount of general romance thrown in. Sure, there are relationships throughout the book, however the majority of those relationships don't really end happily ever after that we're aware of. The last relationship we learn of is rushed and without spoiling it, it just didn't seem right. The book was dark. There was a lot of death and cruelty. It's frustrating when Nora Roberts mixes her darker side in with Romance. If I wanted that kind of book, I would switch to her JD Robb series. But that's not what I'm looking for. I like my Romance books to be light and freeing. This one wasn't. The book ended with a promise that it was only going to get worse. That doesn't leave me thinking I have much to look forward to with the second one. Thankfully the next one doesn't come out for almost a year. I honestly don't know that I'll read it. I hate not finishing a series I start so I may just Spark Note that one and be done with it. Nora Roberts last book, Come Sundown, was so good. Yes, it had dark parts that I would have cared not to have heard, but at least the romantic story line was present throughout. And yes, there was a happily ever after. Unfortunately, this one fell way short of the mark. I realize some readers/listeners will and do love this book because it's different. I'm just not one of them.

People have started moving to Buffalo Valley, North Dakota - people like Lindsay Snyder, who came as a teacher and stayed, marrying local farmer Gage Sinclair. And now Lindsay's best friend, Maddy Washburn, has decided to pull up stakes and join her in Buffalo Valley, hoping for the same kind of satisfaction. And the same kind of love.

I read the first book in this series on a whim and I only read this one because I like to finish what I start. But honestly I'm not certain I'll finish this series. This series is just not for me. Characters are unnecessarily stubborn, or dense, and the narration isn't the best. At times I couldn't tell who was talking.

A touching modern fairytale that won't let go of your heart. Gamekeeper Carol Lund knows she's not special enough to attract an alpha male like Mathias, so his offer to help her adopt a herd for her lonely giraffe is surprising - and his determined seduction even more so. But just as she finally welcomes him into her bed, his careless actions crush her heart. Will she give him a second chance to prove she'll always come first in his heart?

I love Janet Evanovich and I love this series but I think I'm just about burned out on it. The story itself just didn't work for me. I was a little irritated that Diesel was in it because we've all been left hanging for the last few years with his series. Don't get me wrong, I love Diesel, but I NEED him to be in his series with Lizzie so that series can keep going. Besides Diesel, I felt like Ranger had a very small part in this book. And the scenes seemed a bit rushed with him. The whole concept of this story was a bit far fetched, even for this series. I don't know, I guess I'm just over the whole thing.

This book wasn't my favorite from Nora Roberts. I realize it's an older book but overall it just wasn't the best. I didn't like the dynamics of the relationship between the leads and I just didn't think the overall story was put together well. I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I absolutely loved this story. It's my first Susan Mallery book but it certainly won't be my last. I loved the variety of characters introduced and the hints of a backstory you got from each one. I found myself disappointed when the characters were disappointed and excited when the characters were excited. This story completely sucked me in. It took me less than 4 days to finish this book and I'll be moving on to the second one tonight. Definitely worth the read/listen.

Like many small towns, Buffalo Valley is dying. Stores are boarded up, sidewalks are cracked, houses are in need of coats of paint. But despite all that, there's a spirit of hope here, of defiance. The few people still left here are fighting for their town. Lindsay Snyder is a newcomer. She's an outsider even though she spent childhood vacations here. Now she returns to see the family house again, to explore family secrets, and to reevaluate her life. And soon after she arrives, she meets a local farmer named Gage Sinclair....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I guess I could say this was time well spent since the only thing I was doing at the time was driving.

Would you recommend Dakota Born to your friends? Why or why not?

No, I wouldn't. It's not the type of book I would ask them to read. It's long and drawn out. There are several story lines going on at one time and it's outdated. There seemed to be a physical spark between Gage and Lindsey but I couldn't understand how they had anything more than just that physical spark. They fought all the time, disagreed about everything, and overall were 2 very different people. The story line was flat and disappointing.

Would you be willing to try another one of Carly Robins’s performances?

I don't think so. I couldn't tell which character was supposed to be talking which made it very difficult to stay up with the story line.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No, I don't think I would.

Buddhist monk Wayan Bagus lost his island of solitude and wants to get it back. The island was about 200 miles northeast of Samoa. It had a mountain, beaches, a rainforest, and a volcano. And now it's gone. Poof! Vanished without a trace. Brilliant and boyishly charming Emerson Knight likes nothing better than solving an unsolvable, improbable mystery. And finding a missing island is better than Christmas morning in the Knight household.

I found it hard to get in to this story. I love the characters but the story itself are just hard for me to appreciate. All the bad guys are always idiots. They either talk too much or do something stupid. Also, I had an issue with Wayan Baggis. He's a monk and yet he got hooked on modern commodities. It was disappointing.

The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it's kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine's aunt, Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don't talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she's dead.

I was skeptical about this book because sometimes Nora's longer, newer books seem to ramble on and I get bored. However, that was not the case here. I couldn't stop listening. It was one of her best works and I'd urge anyone to give it a try.

    Any additional comments?

The story itself wasn't bad. I was able to figure out the ending nearly halfway through the book. My only complaint would be how fast everything happened with Laurel and Matthew. One minute they dislike each other. The next, he kisses her. Then they have 4 drinks and kiss. The next day, she loses her virginity. The next day, their engaged. I understand that during the year prior, Matthew had feelings for her and showed it by constantly picking on her and annoying her, but still, the way their relationship evolved was way too fast.
