Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

I actually liked the way she did Brooks voice. I don't know what it is about women doing mens voices, some either do well or they don't. I really liked the way Julia Whelan did the mens voices for this book.

    Any additional comments?

I was a little worried about this book at first. I had it in my head that it would go the same way every Nora Roberts novel goes. Something bad always happens to the main character in the end of the book, i.e. someone's kidnaped, shot, etc. I liked how this book ended. There wasn't some huge showdown that could have been easily predicted. I wasn't sure how Nora Roberts planned on ending the book since it had to do with the Russian Mob and throughout the book, it was mentioned how the mob would never stop until they found the person they were looking for. Although it seemed a little unreasonable, the book ended nicely and everything was wrapped up to my liking.

Would you listen to The Villa again? Why?

I never listen to audio books again but if I ever run out of things to listen to, I'll give this one another listen to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Villa?

The ending was the most memorable. I didn't see it coming at all. Without saying too much, I'll say that I thought the way the book ended was great.

Which character – as performed by Laural Merlington – was your favorite?

She was able to switch from different voices and accents with ease. It made listening enjoyable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It kept you on your toes.

Seth Quinn is finally home. It's been a long journey. But a lot has changed in St. Christopher since he's been gone - and the most intriguing change of all is the presence of Dru Whitcomb Banks.

What made the experience of listening to Chesapeake Blue the most enjoyable?

I like listening to audio books over reading them myself because the narrators are able to bring so much more life into the story than I can.

    Any additional comments?

My only problem with this book was the way Seth let his mother have such control over him. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't allow that to happen but he allowed it to go on for years. This was done in another of Nora Roberts books and it just made me annoyed with the story. The presence of Seth's mother in the story took away from the overall story. It would have been better had his conflict been about something else.

What made the experience of listening to Valley of Silence the most enjoyable?

I like listening to audiobooks as opposed to reading them for myself because the narrators have the ability to bring so much more to the story.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've only listened to the other's he's done in this series. I have to say he made the females awfully whiny at times. When I'd have imagined them saying things a little different, he made them sound weak. It also annoyed me when he made tsking sounds. I don't know if they were in the book or not but it drove me nuts. Other than that I liked it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I actually teared up whenever Tinnon (I'm not sure if that's how his name is spelled or not to be honest with you) died and they had his funeral.

    Any additional comments?

I honestly didn't think it'd like this series but I was wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nora Roberts goes into some detail, some of which is graphic or disgusting, and some of it I would have preferred not to hear but I understand it makes for a better story. I must say, however, that my least favorite way to end a book (along with the death of a main character) is by having the characters old. While the gesture and thought is sweet, it depresses the hell out of me. I'd prefer to imagine them as they were when they fought the battle, not as elderly.

What did you love best about Dance of the Gods?

Although this story was about Larkin and Blair, my favorite part was when Cian kissed Moira. How he all but pleaded with her to stop him before he claimed her mouth with his. Amazing!

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed how Larkin could shape shift. It was interesting to imagine him, soaring with Blair on his back in the form of a dragon, or running around the dark caves as a mouse.

What does Dick Hill bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brought animation and feeling. My only problem is it seemed like the woman were more fussy than I imagined they would be. Whenever something distressing happened, the women always sounded like they were fighting back tears. He did it for Larkin once and made him sound almost desperate. I would have preferred a little less of that.

What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?

He did an overall good job with the mens voices. The females weren't bad, except for Blairs. Blair was supposed to have a Boston accent but I kept expecting her to say "don't cha know" at the end of everything she said. Her voice came across as someone from Minnesota.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not at first. I was skeptical about listening to this book to begin with because it has to do with vampires, witches, sorcerers and so forth. I'm not into that type of book and after reading the Three Sisters Island Trilogy, my mind was set that I wouldn't like it. This book overall wasn't horrible. It took me a while to get in to. I started in some months back and stopped when I finished chapter 1. I listened/read a few other books before deciding to finish what I started.

What made the experience of listening to The Husband List the most enjoyable?

I love Janet Evanovich and I love Loreli King. I haven't found a story yet that I don't enjoy from Janet. And Loreli brings such diversity with her voices.

What did you like best about this story?

I could feel the emotions of Caroline and Jack throughout the book. Whenever Jack and Caroline were together, I could feel my own butterflies at the thought of being in a similar situation.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene between Jack and Caroline in Jack's carriage, when he lays her down on the bench and kisses her. The scene with the two of them in Jack's bed was also quite intense. Although they didn't sleep together, the tension between the two was incredibly written and displayed.

Would you listen to Notorious Nineteen again? Why?

Yes I would. I love the way Lorelei King reads. I forget that it's just one person reading the story. The story was good as well. There were several parts where I couldn't contain my laughter.

What other book might you compare Notorious Nineteen to and why?

I'd compare them to any other Stephanie Plum books because they're meant to resemble them.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

I love how diverse her voice is. She gives the characters attitude and their own personalities which makes the overall experience of listening to her read very pleasant.

    Any additional comments?

I love the Stephanie Plum series books and really wish Janet Evanovich would write more than one a year.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dance of Dreams to be better than the print version?

I'd consider it to be better just for the facts that I don't have to sit and read it and I like the way others read as opposed to myself. I get more out of it when I listen.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene when Nick is about to make love with Ruth and tells her that he's imagined how the skin on the different parts of her body would feel. It was so sensual.
