Peter Hermann does an excellent job narrating this fast paced story, with excellent accents, pace and power in a voice that rings out for retribution for these heinous attacks on the core of America!! Burned through this fast paced listen in 2 days, and left me wanting more from Ben Coes!

If you read/listened to A Dog's Purpose, by Bruce Cameron and enjoyed it, this is a natural next step in the story. It is a similar story, yet it has nicely evolved into its own story. It takes us once again on the sometimes heart-wrenching story of our love of our dogs and the loss of our pet! The story revolves around one woman as she starts life as a baby and how her dog, follows her through her life, helping her when needed and their eternal bond. Narration is great and the story is heart warming and endearing, sad and at the same time redeeming. If you like your dog and wonder what he's thinking, Cameron gives you some insight to what may be going on with our furry friends! Good read, good listen!

I loved the story concept, was anxiously awaiting the book for a long road trip. Unfortunately for us the first narrator has the very annoying way of saying her "S"'s. Its a very "hard" almost a whistle "S" and it was so annoying that we turned the book off after 10 minutes. I tried a little while later because it was the only book we had for the trip and it still became the sole focus of attention to me and the 2 other people in the car. It is so annoying that if I could get my money back, I would!!

Before I wrote this review, I went back and listened to the sample. It is apparent but not obnoxiously so. I don't want to throw the book under the bus, and the rating I am giving the book is purely on the basis of the irritating narration. So please listen to the sample, and imagine the hard "s" whistling and realize that during the actual book narration it is more pronounced and if it doesn't bother you, knock yourself out and try the book!

Unfortunately the book was not listenable for us! I see it's available on whispersync, so maybe I will get a chance to read it instead and update my review, base on the story rather than one of the narrators.

It could have been written by a tired high school babysitter. I guess what can you expect out of a 6 minute dissertation by Samuel L Jackson, who sounded like HE was ready to fall asleep reading it!! Don't waste your time or money.

If you have a dog of your own, then you already know this story. His dog is special, unique, responds best to the author. His dog has issues that the owner finds endearing, yet others abhor. Nice read, nice story, but nothing new or nothing revealing here. If you want to read about someone else's dog ownership experience, it may be a good book, But you might be better served to just go out and get your own dog! This book is nothing special!

Mitch Rapp is in his best form. From the first opening salvo the story takes off and its a wild ride from start to finish. Rapp is in his best form ever, the story flows fast and cold and deep. This is some of the cleanest writing that Vince Flynn has put to paper! You quickly are sucked in to this tale and away you go. Action from the very beginning and a very satisfying ending. Maybe the best Mitch Rapp story yet!! I put down Locked On, Tom Clancy's new novel to move Kill Shot to the top of the list and boy was it a great listen. I finished Kill Shot last night and returned to Locked On this morning for my morning workout and it just wasn't doing it for me. Vince, you've outdone yourself on this one. It was worth the wait!

I've been an audible subscriber for over 6 years and each year at least one book jumps out at me as the best of the year. For 2011 this could be it!! Having read Stephen King since his first stories, I kind of got bored of him a few years ago and lost interest. I was missing the old King, The Stand, Pet Semetary, Cujo, the great original thinking, non-formulaic King. HE'S BAAACK!

This is a great story, stays on course, fast paced. It had me sitting in my car in the garage waiting for a good time to stop, it had me run an extra 3 miles on the treadmill this morning. The narration was really nicely done, voices and accents were very good, and when he was off, there were no big distractions. If you remember where you were when JFK was killed and are a fan of history, suspend your beliefs, step into his world and take the ride down the wormhole back to 1958. This is destined to be one of his best, and I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a movie. Stephen King -- back when he was original, entertaining and slightly twisted.

If you are a fan of The Art of Racing in the Rain, or Marley and Me, or any of the other "dog" books, this one will surely be worth your credit to listen to. I loaded it on to my ipod and hit the road for a 4 hr drive for business and it was a great listen. I couldn't wait to get done with my business meetings and hit the road home for another 4 hour session of A Dog's Purpose. The book is written from a dog's point of view. The story brings into focus what is important to dogs, and a refreshing look at how a dog sees our daily life. Everything boils down to "good dog", "treats" "go for a ride" and "our dogs dedication to us". Touching, quick moving, and moments of sadness followed by moments that make you smile. If you own a dog and ever wonder what they may be thinking, you need to read the book or listen to this story. If I could have given it more stars I would have! Great read, great story, unique take on a dogs life and their special purpose. If you have owned more than one dog, you can always look back to "The Dog" in your life. Not that you don't like your current/prior dogs, but you had ONE DOG who was the ONE. Well this book will give you a new perspective on why he/she may have been your ONE DOG! Dog's may also have that ONE PERSON, that they thought were "THE ONE" Great Listen!
Listen to it, you won't be disappointed. I have over 200 books in my audible library and this is a top 10!

SPOILERS MAY BE CONTAINED HERE! But if you don't want to waste a credit, you should probably read this! The book starts out great and the reader/narrator does a few great accents and paints excellent pictures with his voice. The story starts before the lead character is even born, and continues briefly on to where the lead character is a young man on a fishing trip to Canada, and has a juvenile one-night-stand. Then a flash forward romp through the middle east on a near nuclear apocalyptic journey, with the young man as a CIA operative, interspersed with a "not very credible" CIA operative involved in an unlikely shootout, followed by a not very credible Islamic cleric's conversion to Christianity, followed by a return home, and then story ends, with no resolution to the impending nuclear disaster that the story leads up to throughout the previous 14.5 hours. There is nothing resolved about the 12th Imam. What happened to the main story line??? In fact, none of the story lines are resolved. I am sitting here, just having finished the listen, and asking myself...What the heck did I miss...where was this book going?? I was going to give it no stars if I could, but then you can't write a review on the book.
The book doesn't finish any story lines that it started, and seems like the book just ended and could possibly lead to a sequel, but I don't trust the author/publisher enough to get the next book for fear the same thing would happen. I wonder if the author was writing the book, the publisher stopped by while the writer was out to lunch, since he had a deadline he just grabbed the book, published it, only to find the author hadn't complete the story. Disjointed, scattered, no resolution to many of the story lines that you follow throughout the book.

This story has lots of promise. If it was a "free first chapter" book, I would be buying the rest of the book and enjoying it. Seems like the author started a great story, and then had to go back to his day job and decided not to finish. Had the story moved along and developed some more, I would have given it a 4 or 5 star rating. As it was, it was good, but seemed more like a magazine short story than a novella.
