So many characters and yet the author manages to give you a feeling for each-- as does the narrator. And the story itself flowed. Never a time did I want to put the book down!
.. or break the read. This book is broken. Mr. Baskous was all over the map with his accents-- even in straight narration. I felt at times I was in the middle of a stage play. The story was good, but if there is a sequel, I will read the hard copy rather than endure 15 hours of this narrator.
This was not a book I could read in one sitting... or two. It just seemed to drag on, but I did want to know how it ended.
As with her first book, Hidden, the plot was fun to follow. The narration in this book was much better than the first and thus, made the read more enjoyable. I look forward to reading the third in the series.
Not really, but I enjoyed the story.
Someone who did not sound like a kid.
One of the books in this series was on my "recommended" list so I thought I would start with the first book. I will probably read another since the narrator is a different person.
Yes, a different narrator. Had Armand Schultz or Lou Phillips Diamond or a number of others narrated the book, I would have enjoyed it so much.
His cadence was off and his accent during straight narration changed so often.
I have not read the print version, but I doubt it.
Yes, but if I am really enjoying a book, I hate to put it down.
disappointingly forced dramatization
I have always liked Steve Berry's stories-- this one, too. But Scott Brick's narration style has changed and I do not enjoy listening to him.
I have enjoyed most of Ms. Roberts' books. This one takes her readers to a higher level of action/thrills/suspense, romance and a touch of delicious humor. Her characters developed immediately-- and there are so many who are integrate to the story. And Julia Whelan is superb! It was really hard to put down.
