On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

    "Just like Needful Things"
    Overall

If you loved Needful Things, then you will probably love this. I personally didn't like Needful Things, so I didn't like this book. I think King's books are better when they are laser focused rather than like a shotgun. Great narration.

There, he encounters Emiko...Emiko is the Windup Girl, a strange and beautiful creature. One of the New People, Emiko is not human; instead, she is an engineered being, creche-grown and programmed to satisfy the decadent whims of a Kyoto businessman.

    "Boring"
    Overall

I was shocked at the number of good reviews. It was just so slow and boring and I was left with a feeling of who cares. To give you an idea of how slow the book is, I listned to the entire first piece of the three pieces I downloaded and I learned as much in that first third as I did in the 5 seconds it took me to read the pop up description. Save your credits for something interesting.

This book started out strong and funny, but lost it's way toward the middle and it was dead (pun intended) at the end. I didn't even finish it.

If Ridley Jones had slept 10 minutes later or had taken the subway instead of waiting for a cab, she would still be living the beautiful lie she used to call her life. She would still be the privileged daughter of a doting father and a loving mother. Her life would still be perfect, with only the tiny cracks of an angry junkie for a brother and a charming drunk with shady underworld connections for an uncle to mar the otherwise flawless whole.

It started out kind of interesting then went down hill fast. No surprise ending, too long because it didn't have any suspense.

People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

This book was the funnies book I have ever listened to! I was listening to it for the second time starting today and it is just as funny, if not even funnier, than the first time I listened to it!
