Really exciting book. Believe me, this is the best of all the vampire academy series. In this book, Rose Hathaway kept seeing ghosts (Mason). Did he come for revenge, or for something else? I read the whole series in less than a week, great book.
I honestly don't see what all the hype is about. The plotline is slow and predictable, very much like the adult version of Twilight. Another issue is with the female protagonist, Beatrice De Novo. I find her wimpy personality very annoying. She’s constantly crying and moping around feeling sorry for herself. I really hate seeing heroines that just sit around and do nothing while waiting to be rescued.
Rhys Bowen has definitely become one of my favorite authors. I have fallen in love with the settings, the characters and their situations. If you're looking for a good historical mystery that is fun and entertaining, you can't go wrong with this series.
This series is lighthearted but absolutely enchanting! The characters pretty much had me from the start and I enjoyed this installment as much as the first.
After reading The Clockwork Prince, I seriously had no idea where the story was heading, nor did I know how I wanted it to end. The first two books were so amazing that I was afraid of being disappointed. We all knew that the story wasn't going to end well no matter what right? Well, you’ll find out soon enough if you haven't already. Cassie is a true expert on the element of surprise. The Clockwork Princess sent me on an emotional roller coaster like no other and wows me in every possible way! I'm sorry to see it end but hopefully we'll get to see some of the characters in City of Heavenly Fire.
I never expected this series to be so entertaining and addictive when I first bought Switched. The characters are interesting and the plot twists aren’t as predictable as most in this genre. However, this book is not for everyone. It’s like The Princess Diaries with trolls in it. If you are looking for something lighthearted and fun, this book would be a great choice, but if you’re looking for something darker and more intense, I would suggest The Vampire Academy Series or The Infernal Devices Trilogy.
I’ve read this story a hundred times before, and the sad thing is, this book isn’t even particularly well written. Ever is the most annoying character ever! She is boring, brainless, melodramatic and self-hating. She couldn’t imagine how someone as gorgeous and mysterious as Damen could fall in love with someone like her, normal and plain. Even though she lived in a huge mansion and was described as “beautiful” many times throughout the book, she was still constantly moping around and feeling bad about herself. Sounds familiar huh? All in all, it was a waste of time.
We can never fully understand how Jaycee managed to survive this horrible existence for 18 years, but through this memoir, we can get a glimpse of it. What surprised me the most was that those 18 years hadn’t turned Jaycee into a cynical person; instead, she is strong and positive and cherishes life more than anyone else. I admired her character and found great inspiration from her courage. Jaycee, you rock!
This book seems rushed and very poorly written. The action scenes are all pretty much the same, boring and dull. The characters are the worst part of the book. Calla went from a strong and determined alpha to a manipulative and unbelievably selfish toerag. Shay has always been unpopular among readers, and after this book, I’m not sure anyone would feel sorry if Calla had let the bear have him. Honestly, Shay is the most whiny, obnoxious, annoying and selfish character ever! Nothing is right about this book. All the honorable characters suffered or died pointlessly, and all the worst characters got the happy ending. Overall, Bloodrose is a complete failure.
I’d been waiting for ages for The Golden Lily to come out, so when it finally did, I downloaded it immediately! Again, Richelle Mead has failed to disappoint me. There are more character developments, more drama, more romance and more intrigue in this book. I couldn’t be more happy with how the story turned out!
In The Golden Lily, Sydney still makes decisions based on what she believes is right, but now she is beginning to open up and so we get to see another side of her. Sydney is extremely intelligent, but her innocence in certain areas makes me want to smile at her indulgently. Adrian Ivashkov is simply the most endearing character ever created by Richelle! I love his fierce loyalty and smart-ass comments. He keeps surprising me and I’m so glad he has a much larger part in this book than in Bloodlines.
I’m obsessed with this series and I wouldn’t change a thing about it!
Now, who is up for the next book, The Indigo Spell?
Grave Mercy is undoubtedly one of the best historical fantasies I have ever read! It is a perfect blend of magic, mystery, romance and twisty plot developments. Beautiful writings seem to come so effortlessly for Robin LaFevers. It’s impossible not to fall under the spell of the fascinating world she has created.
The heroine, Ismae, is a killer nun to put it quite literally. She is strong, believable, intelligent and lacks the annoying qualities I find in so many female protagonists. The plot is fast-paced and thrilling that it had me holding my breath until the very end. Grave Mercy left me feeling giddy and satisfied. I can’t wait for the second book, Dark Triumph, to come out!
