When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

I expected a little more from a book that I'd heard of forever and just now got around to listening. I was interested from about the 2nd chapter, but it lost my interest in the last 2 chapters. I wanted the characters to learn more about themselves to change history or make a huge impact, but they didn't.

Narrators were great. Story was good, but had more potential than how it ended up. Not nearly as good as the first 2 in the series, but worth reading.

As METAtropolis: Green Space moves into the 22nd Century, human social evolution is heading in new directions after the Green Crash and the subsequent Green Renaissance. Nearly everyone who cares to participate in the wired world has become part of the "Internet of things", a virtual environment mapped across all aspects of the natural experience. At the same time, the serious back-to-the-land types have embraced a full-on paleo lifestyle, including genetically engineering themselves and their offspring.

I didn't make it through this book. Maybe I waited too long after listening to the first two and lost interest in the story.

This sequel to the Hugo and Audie Award nominated METAtropolis features interconnected stories by today’s top writers of speculative fiction – performed by a galaxy of Star Trek stars. As the mid-20th century approaches, the Pacific Northwest has been transformed - politically, economically, and ecologically - into the new reality of Cascadia. Conspiracies and secrets threaten the tenuous threads of society. And the End of Days seems nearer than ever.

I liked it a lot; enough to buy the other one. Liked them both a lot. Loved how the other one has so many different stories, but they all relate.
