Clary Fray just wants her life to go back to normal - but that turns out to be impossible. For one thing, her mother is still in the hospital, in a mysterious coma. For another, she and her brother, Jace, have fallen under a cloud of suspicion now that the Shadowhunter world knows that Valentine is still alive - and that Jace and Clary are his son and daughter.

I would definitely recommend this to others. It is easy to get into the story of Clary & Jace. You feel for them..you wonder what is around the next bend for them. I was disappointed when it ended, but couldn't wait for the next book!

Readers everywhere have become entranced by the New York Times best-selling No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, from acclaimed author and award-winning wit Alexander McCall Smith. Each charming book in the series is a masterpiece of comic subtlety and a window for viewing the distinctive culture and landscape of Botswana.

Would you try another book from Alexander McCall Smith and/or Lisette Lecat?

Being this was the first book I've listened to in the series, I would not try another. It was an extremely slow story line. It was almost painful getting through it all. Lisette Lecat did a good job with voices etc. however, she was slow in reading. I had to stop halfway to listen to another book, then came back to this one to try to finish.

Would you ever listen to anything by Alexander McCall Smith again?

I don't think I would choose another book by this author, the style was very simplistic and slow paced. that may be ok for some but not for me. The fact that I was listening to it helped to stay through to the end, if I had picked it up to read it I would never have finished.

What does Lisette Lecat bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Lisette has the accent & pronunciation, that is something you definitely don't get from reading

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    no

    Any additional comments?

Many of the pronunciations, although most likely correct, made me insane by the time it was over. the MMMMMssss I feel were WAY overused/over-pronounced.

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
