"Better on CD"
This is indeed a collection of short stories of sexual encounters, and dramatic presentations with no coherent connection. It's best listened to on headphones; there's a startling amount of detail in the recordings. The performances are fine, though Josh Kornbluth's bit at the end actually would have been even funnier if recorded live -- it actually sounded strange not to hear an audience laughing.
My biggest disappointment is the omission of "Down", a song by a band called Daddy Don't Go that appears on the CD version of this book, which a roommate of mine once had. The song was so outstanding that I got this audiobook expressly to hear it again (it doesn't appear on any other CD that I know of) and I was crushed that it wasn't part of this audiobook. Strangely, Voice Farm's gimmicky and non-erotic song was included.
I would also prefer to have individual tracks; the index marks aren't all that easy to navigate, even on an iPod. It's a collection of stories and it's kind of annoying to have as one monolithic track.
This is definitely a great example of the genre, well-recorded and delightfully perverse. However, if I could do it over again I'd buy the CD and rip it.
