The Return of the King is the towering climax to J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy that tells the saga of the hobbits of Middle-earth and the great War of the Rings. In this concluding volume, Frodo and Sam make a terrible journey to the heart of the Land of the Shadow in a final reckoning with the power of Sauron. In addition to narrating the prose passages, Rob Inglis sings the trilogy’s songs and poems a capella, using melodies composed by Inglis and Claudia Howard, the Recorded Books studio director.

What did you love best about The Return of the King?

The book is long but worth listening to. There are so many aspects of the book that it is hard to say what I lvoe the best. This is a classic that can be listened to over and over and loved each time.

What does Rob Inglis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I cannot read the book but to listen to Rob read it helps me to hear the characters and story so clearly. He did a great job reading and expressing the emotions and meanings.

The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape. In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Would you listen to The Fellowship of the Ring again? Why?

Yes, I love this story but it is one that I just cannot read but can listen to. My mother read it to my as a child and now I am relistening to the set. There is so much to it that to hear it again and again brings new light to the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Very long but but makes my drive back and forth to work enjoyable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book has many parts to it, with different speakers. It is not a book to listen to all in one sitting. I found that I needed time to absorb what each speaker discussed.

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book, I felt each speaker had so much to present that can be used in my life, at work or daily living. I am glad that I purchased this.

The season of gift-giving is here, and this year we've got something special for our members: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Yuletide whodunit "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle". In this holiday-themed short story, Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson, follow the trail of a lost hat and a Christmas goose through the streets of London and into a rapidly expanding mystery.

A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

Where does Bonhoeffer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    I LOVED this book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bonhoeffer. The author portrayed him with struggles, friendships, and love. This book was long but I really enjoyed it. Bonhoeffer struggled over his leadership, to the german church. He also gave his live fully to trying to overcome the evils that were in his homeland.

    Which scene was your favorite?

This is to hard to understand since his live was amazing in every aspect.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was horrified, made weary, encouraged, and scared-to much of what he faced I see going on around us.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to.
