The narration on this amazing book is excellent! I listened to this book while on an exercise bike, and increased to 1 hour a day because I wanted to hear what would happen next! It's a great listen for a long drive, as well.

I would recommend this to any fantasy/sci-fi fan for a great adventure.

The author doesn't talk down to the audience, and he has taken a character through a difficult changes with help from wise mentors and good friends. A good reminder for those of us on either side of that equation.

This book is good for learning Geography - I keep hearing about places and end up looking them up on Google Earth.

Solid story, well laid out. There were times when I said to myself, "Really?" because the kids do a few things that are dumb that make the story a bit more predictable. However, the backstory with the Dad is great.

David Pittu is one of the best. The voices are very distinctive, and easy to listen to. Also, the production is top notch. Some audiobooks have obvious cuts and pops, and the sound quality can be rough, but not so with this company. The clarity and even the music are both perfect for this reading.

I thought my iPod was going bad, and played this again on my computer. For instance, on the second half at 4:32:37ish, the sentence has been oddly patched. There are a few of these hiccups throughout, which can be a bit distracting. Otherwise, Stephen Briggs does a great job of reading, and I get even more out of the audible books than reading them (and I've read all the Pratchett books- they're that good.) There's laugh out loud bits, searing wisdom, and a better than average mystery story in a fantasy setting. A great listen.

There are times when this book moves a bit more slowly and didactically than I liked, but it was still great escapist material. I enjoyed the ride through places in D.C. that I've visited, and it was a fun book overall.

I would not compare it to previous books, as this is hardly fair. On it's own, it is a good book with consistent characters that are painstakingly developed. The description was similar to seeing something in a movie, so I suspect this is going to be made into a film at some point. There are a few times when the description takes on more than it needs to, however.

Overall I would still recommend this book. Fun to listen to on the way to and from work and an interesting choice of subjects after the directions taken with "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code."

I am a fan. This book started with a genuine, unique character, and kept building from there. The story was evenly wound with interesting twists into life in Botswana. I found that I had guessed some of the plot, however this didn't seem to bother me. I was cheering by the ending sentence, and am buying others in this series!

This book is a good light read. It's got some foul language that passes for realism, and is read with your "typical" pan-Indian accent. That being said, it has a story line that picks up after about 1/2 of the book, and it gets the feel of the modern "old west" down pretty well. The narrator should be applauded for moving the story along during times when the story was rather slow.

I listened to this while traveling through the Badlands, and really wished that Brown could take a page from Hillerman and incorporate more of the local color and environment. Still, if you're looking for a mystery that is pretty straight forward, this will fit the bill.

This is definitely on the lighter side of mystery adventure entertainment. Great for listening on the exercise bike, this one distracted me as I worked out. Although I enjoy the Dirk Pitt series a lot, this NUMA files series is a nice side jaunt.

The reading is perfect. The narrator sounds exactly like I would imagine the characters! The story moves at a very even pace, and is beautifully written.

I would recommend this to middle school and older, and all fantasy/sci-fi fans. The world the author creates is richly depicted, and the characters are fully developed.

It's a great story for a long drive, and will keep both young and old entertained.

This is a beautiful story, with both very happy and very sad passages. Bring your Kleenex box!

Okay, I'm a fan. But, this surpassed my expectations! The reading was clear and the story is fun and carries Pratchett's usual social commentary. The Wee Free Men are sometimes a bit difficult to understand (the Scottish accent is well done, no further explanation needed.)

All in all, this is a great book for middle school and older, and is a fun romp.

Highly recommended!
