This is an attempt to to filter myth from fact in the murky self-development arena. Some good information and bs debunking makes it worth the time.
But the narrator... this guy redefines the meaning of "slow talker". I had to set the speed to 1,5x (some parts 2x) to be able to go through the book.
This is an historical narrative that reads like a thriller and makes one feel we are living the events but at the same time allows us to understand them from a broader and deeper perspective. I wish all history books were like this! Great narration to boot!
... but after a slow, narrow and sometimes even dull plotless narrative it does get much better and is well worth the listening time.
Very informative and compelling bio from a founding father of personal development and the author of the best human relations book ever. Nice to know he walked his talk and never let his guru status go over his head.
I have just stopped listening to this after more than four painful hours (spread over several days). As I stand now I can only say this one is a front runner for the biggest bore I've ever listened to. But maybe I'm at fault here so I don't rule out picking this up again in a distant, very far away, insomniac future.
This is an outstanding PG Wodehouse novel and the narration is mostly superb however sometimes silent pauses between chapters are way too long, and in some odd instances the sound quality deteriorated so much it was very hard to listen.
A superb sample of the Gentleman Cabrioleur adventures. These marvellous classic tales transport us to the elegant Belle Époque in the company of the supremely charming Master Criminal Arséne Lupin a man who devotes his outstanding skills to the delightful and very lucrative métier of burglary.
A great narration is the icing on the cake.
This is a very, very funny book and the narration is outstanding. The british accent and slang is dense and takes a while to get used to. It is by all means worth the effort though: it is funny, witty, and highly original. I hope it will have a sequel!
Audio is not the best format for this book - you will want the new Whispersync for voice that allows the use of the written text for referencing and reviewing.
This is a story about the enduring network of former nazis and how they plan and act to perpetuate their influence and protect the former SS members. Still a very good plot well worth the time.
Someone (the narrator?) opted to have all the german characters speak english in a squeaky pitch with a german (?) accent. Irritating and distracting,
