"Impulse purchase"
It is interesting to learn how Steven Tyler came to be the star he is, but the story couldn't keep my attention.
I enjoyed this book for a while, but not enough to finish it.
"Fabulous"
My daughter was required to read this book for school, which she did, but she also listened. As a result she was the only student in the class who knew how to pronounce the German in the text. I listened along with her, and thoroughly enjoyed, although I don't think I would have had the patience to read it. The narrator brought the characters alive beautifully. After the first few chapters I was hooked.
"An enjoyable journey"
This was the first of two books that I have downloaded by the same author and narrator. After finishing this one, I immediately bought the second and while I enjoyed them both, this was by far the better of the two. The story unravels slowly and beautifully. I was completely drawn into the story line and time period. Kate Morton's books won't leave you hanging on the cliff at the end of each chapter, but if you are content with one marvelous twist, this is worth your time.
"For those who savor the journey"
The story is beautifully written and unfolds very slowly until the plot twist is revealed. Now that I know the ending, I would not have the patience to listen to it again, but will listen to other books by Kate Morton.
"Great read for parents & educators"
9/10
I'd have to say it is most like Freakanomics. Both are nonfiction and discuss what motivates people. Both are very enjoyable and thought-provoking.
Never pay a child for good grades!
I will listen to this book multiple times and I recommend it to every parent, professional and, particularly, to educators.
"Best audiobook ever!"
Absolutely the best
The selection of narrators makes this the best listening experience I have had yet. I would have loved the book had I read it, but I am so glad that I listened to it instead because these characters would not have come alive for me the way they did thanks to the wonderful cast of narrators.
I've let my preteen daughter listen to this book and she thoroughly enjoyed it, too. She also read the book and insisted on going to the movie when it was released.
I drove through four states listening to this book, then, upon arrival, kept the headphones plugged in until I finished it.
"LOVE Tine Fey"
It is perfect that Tina Fey read this book.
Who doesn't love the Sarah Palin story?
If you need to laugh, get this audiobook!
"Rediscovered my crush on Rob Lowe"
I love that Rob Lowe narrated this book himself. When I first heard he had written the book, I was doubtful that it would be any good. Nevertheless, after hearing a few reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how he got his start and his associations with other well-known actors and directors. In fact, before I finished listening, I had to find a copy of The Outsiders to watch again.
"When I need a laugh"
I have listened to it multiple times when I need a laugh, or just to be consoled. At 9:00 I turn into an exhausted witch who just wants her kiddos to Go the F--K to Sleep. Knowing that there are others who can sympathize is comforting. In this case, it's comforting and hilarious.
The NARRATION!
What a great voice for a comedic touch.
I laugh out loud every time I play it.
"Daydreaming of Lobster Fishing?"
The narrator has a great voice.
If you are daydreaming of quitting your job to trap lobster, or even live some place remote, listen to this first.
