Ever see the movie "Doc Hollywood" with Michael J Fox? Well, True Believer is a play on that movie. The "city" guy comes to the "country" town... falls in love with the "country" girl and they try to figure out who moves so they can both be together. I felt like I was listening to the movie script. I was a bit disappointed. Sparks is generally a writer who I enjoy and keeps my interest. I DID enjoy the book.... but again, I felt like the storyline was similar and very predictable. It was an easy listen..... and it occupied me on the drive to/from work.
I'm half-way through this trilogy of books and am just beginning the last... Of course, Scott Brick does an excellent job... but the story is interesting, suspenseful, well-written, well-read and always leaving you wanting just a little bit more.
Not at ALL boring or slow...
This is an excellent listen. I'm starting the last of the 3 books and will be sorry when it's over. Truly enjoyable... you won't regret it!
Like another person said, Scott Brick could make a phonebook interesting! He's just a very talented narrator and I try to listen to books he's done.
The story overall was good. And I liked the characters from The Rosary Girls.... this was a natural choice...... good characters.... great narrator!
Enjoy this book..... both by Montanari are worth it.....
Try Kill the Messenger by Tami Hoag... you won't regret it.
Overall good series, however The 4th of July was my favorite.
Lindsay and her friends are a fun listen... even through all their trials and tribulations.
I never was able to finish...... no...... "start" book 2.... the narrator was just terrible. She put me to sleep (with boredom, of course.)
Books 1, 3, 4 and 5 were fun and kept me listening.
If you buy the series, good luck with Book 2!
I have to say... I like Tammi Hoag, but I like Scott Brick's narration the best! He just does a wonderful job!
The book is a good listen and quite enjoyable!
A wonderful book... a wonderful listen.
The narrator does a great job and one becomes immersed in Christopher's world. It holds your interest and gives insight into the world of an autistic child.
I highly recommend this adventure! Heartwarming, sad, touching, laughable and most certainly lovable.
Being a true pet lover, I initially picked up this audiobook out of curiosity. Marley and Me proved to be entertaining, heart-warming, tender and endearing to the soul. I laughed. I cried. I giggled with knowing appreciation of Marley's antics and his owner's love and frustrations. This book is a very worthy read and listen.
