"Not the best"
**** SPOILERS ****
OK. Maybe I just don't get "adult" sci-fi. But this book kinds just drug on with no read direction. There were so many mini stories in the book that I had a hard time keeping up with all of them.
There is so lottle to go off of for the first few chapters that I had no clue that we were talking about so many different races and trying to keep up with which race was which was a pain.
Then to get to the end and find out that we were not going to get ANY resolution was a massive letdown. No resolution on anything. What is going on under water? Who is this mystery man and what's up with his head? Who are the visitors and then the newer visitors?
The story got more interesting about half way through the book, but I doubt the series is worth getting the next two just to find some form of closure.
"Another great story fro C.S.Lewis"
A clean, good natured, fun story. Anyone that likes Narnia will enjoy this story as much as the others.
"Great information on how to gain control of change"
This book is filled with good example of what we can each do to take control of the changes we need to make. Well worth the read and something that should probably be read several times.
"Great story well presented"
Fun story and well written. Grabbed me from the first chapter and kept me going the whole way through. Can't wait to listen to the next 4 books in the series.
"Overall good book though lacks a great ending"
A good book to preface Ender's Game and provide a little insight to the entry of the Formics into our solar system.
The attack on the main Formic ship. Shadows of a hive mind as one Formic sees a previous enemy.
Like several of Card's books I think the ending was lacking. I have heard that this is supposed to be book 1 of a trilogy, but the ending left way to may loose ends. So I hope book 2 comes out soon to help tie up those ends.
Children of the Mind also had too many loose ends. At least we know that Shadows Alive should tie most of those up.
The story was good. It helps set up several key elements for the entire series and was tough to put down.
"Creative beginning for Peter Pan"
I loved this idea of how Peter Pan cam into existence. Yes, it is a youth book, but very well put together and well worth the listen. Jim Dale, who also reads the Harry Potter books, does an excellent job as usual.
