"Very funny, light read"
I really enjoyed this book and the narrator was great. Sure, it was unrealistic, but I didn't personally get this book so I could have a dose of reality. It was a very fun listen. Parts of it were even very touching, especially Old Yeller. The 6 hours flew by very quickly. I am looking forward to the next book.
"Very good romance!"
I really enjoyed this story. It was well written, and the characters behaved in realistic ways. The narration was awesome as well. It made me laugh and cry.
"I think I'd still enjoy the movie more..."
If I had read the book, first, then saw the movie, I do think I'd enjoy the movie more. I found this book more interesting in an academic sort of way. I liked how Ralphy found the Ovaltine can, and it was neat to find out what sent him down Memory Lane to childhood Christmases. But I found the narration not what I expected.
The events happened in a very different order as well. I thought I'd be anticipating that Ralphy would get the BB gun at the end of the book and was sort of disappointed when it happened closer to the beginning.
"christmasy, but enjoyable year round"
I really did enjoy getting to hear from Lady Julia and Nicholas again. I havve missed them since Dark Enquiry came out. And I have to say: this book was just plain fun. All the animals brought unexpected plot twists to the story.
"A really good start to the series"
I really liked this book. I thought the author's creation of immortals was pretty unique. You don't read about too many people who can set fire to things. The narration was really good as well.
I got the second book right away and listened to it as well.
"This 2nd book is even better than the first!"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, though I couldn't manage it in one sitting. The plot is expanding nicely, so that while the second book ends, there are more things I have started to be curious about for whenever the next book comes out. I eagerly await Poppy's story, at least I am pretty sure it will be hers. I hope so.
"Keeps on getting better and better"
I love this story even more than I loved the other two books. i am seriously getting addicted to this series.
"Great narration, love the fairy voices"
Phil Gigante does a great job making this book come to life. I went and got the second book after I finished this one.
"loved this story!"
I really enjoyed learning more about Sophie and her family. There are arts in this book I will always remember and can kind of relate to. I will be listening to more of these when I get a chance.
"continuation from Slave..."
I was so glad whem Need finally came to Audible. If you like cliff hangers, listen to these books. I am a reviewer who said wait for the next book to come out regarding SLAVE. I should have realized I'd be saying it again for this book.
Regarding the story itself, there were some dramatics, but some very touching parts as well. The narrators did an excellent job of conveying all of those moments.
"Wow, what a story!"
I have to say I enjoyed this second book even more than the first book. Jill Redfield did a great narration, and I did not expect the story to end the way it did. I can't wait until December when the last book comes out!
