Dory is used to fighting hard and nasty. So when she wakes up in a strange scientific lab with a strange man standing over her, her first instinct is to take his head off. Luckily, the man is actually the master vampire Louis-Cesare, so he's not an easy kill. It turns out that Dory had been working with a Vampire Senate task force on the smuggling of magical items and weaponry out of Faerie when she was captured and brought to the lab.

For a vampire killer like Jane, having Leo Pellisier as a boss took some getting used to. But now, someone is out to take his place as Master Vampire of the city of New Orleans, and is not afraid to go through Jane to do it. After an attack that’s tantamount to a war declaration, Leo knows his rival is both powerful and vicious, but Leo’s not about to run scared. After all, he has Jane. But then, a plague strikes, one that takes down vampires and makes their masters easy prey.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the narrator is so wonderful and this and other books. But I enjoyed this book because I was wondering when the rst of the vampires and other supernatural people in New Orleans would discover who she is. I do wish they'd treat Jane better, though. It really does almost break my heart to see the way Beast and everyone else treats her.

With The Look of Love, best-selling author Bella Andre introduces you to a fun and emotional contemporary romance series about the Sullivan family. Because when a Sullivan bad boy falls... he falls hard. And it's forever. Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she's convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her must be too good to be true. Or is he?

The holiday film A Christmas Story, first released in 1983, has become a bona fide Christmas perennial, gaining in stature and fame with each succeeding year. Its affectionate, wacky, and wryly realistic portrayal of an American family's typical Christmas joys and travails in small-town Depression-era Indiana has entered our imagination and our hearts with a force equal to It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street.

If I had read the book, first, then saw the movie, I do think I'd enjoy the movie more. I found this book more interesting in an academic sort of way. I liked how Ralphy found the Ovaltine can, and it was neat to find out what sent him down Memory Lane to childhood Christmases. But I found the narration not what I expected.

The events happened in a very different order as well. I thought I'd be anticipating that Ralphy would get the BB gun at the end of the book and was sort of disappointed when it happened closer to the beginning.

I really liked this book. I thought the author's creation of immortals was pretty unique. You don't read about too many people who can set fire to things. The narration was really good as well.
I got the second book right away and listened to it as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, though I couldn't manage it in one sitting. The plot is expanding nicely, so that while the second book ends, there are more things I have started to be curious about for whenever the next book comes out. I eagerly await Poppy's story, at least I am pretty sure it will be hers. I hope so.
