"the reader absolutely sucks."
a better reader could've greatly improved this audiobook. every character sounded the same and his accent, while trying to make it all sound authentic, made listening difficult.
all of the characters get cut!!! lol!
"GREAT. ENTERTAINING. INTERESTING. ENOUGH SAID."
SORROW. LOVE. VENGENCE.
A LOT OF ACTUAL HISTORY IN THE BOOK. REALLY WELL DONE!
WHEN HIS TWO FRIENDS WRITE TO HIM ABOUT A MISSION HE GAVE THEM ABOUT A PROFESSOR AND HIS LAB!!
NO... I'VE GOT A LIFE!!! KIDS, A JOB, FRIENDS!!!
"IS IT THAT OBVIOUS ITS A VIDEO GAME?"
I ALREADY HAVE! ALL THE OTHER AC BOOKS.
WITH AN OBVIOUS 'HAPPILY EVER AFTER WITH WORK STILL YET TO BE DONE', I ENJOYED IT. LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE.
THE NARRATION MADE THE PACE OF THIS STORY WHICH WAS A BAD THING. HE'S GOT TO PICK UP HIS PACE IN THE ACTION SEQUENCES TO MATCH THE WRITING.
IT ALREADY HAS ONE...
"COULDVE BEEN GREAT"
YES, ONLY IF THE FIRST 3 WERE READ ALREADY. IT TIES IN ALL THE LOOSE ENDS WELL ENOUGH FOR A WELL ROUNDED PICTURE OF EZIO'S WORLD.
SPOILER ALERT.... I WOULDVE STRETCHED OUT EZIO'S TWILIGHT YEARS WITH HIS BOOK WRITING OR AT THE VERY LEAST WOULDVE SHOWED HIM AS A REAL MENTOR INSTEAD OF JUST BEING CALLED A MENTOR.
EASILY HIS BEST PERFORMANCE. HE FINALLY FIGURED HE HAD TO ADD A LITTLE *UMF* WHILE READING THE ACTION SEQUENCES!
IF YOU'VE GONE THIS FAR INTO THE SERIES, KEEP IT GOING.. IT BEATS PLAYING THE GAMES TO CATCH UP..
"felt like 'the moral of the story is....'"
the book goes into the history of the Assassins Creed story. tells all about Altair, atleast for the most part. i didn't care to hear of how disgraced he was but it was necesary.
yes, i've recomended all 3 of the first 4 books. only 3 because thats all i've got for now.
he could use more enthusiasm.. not exactly monotone, but very close to it.
i plan on it..
"TOO BORING TO GET THROUGH THE FIRST 2.5"
I currently own mor sk audiobooks than anything else, but the reader absolutely sucked!
i'm not sure it was SK, rather, it was the reader... too monotone.
a different reader that understands its also a performance, not just a reading.
anger that i wasted a credit.
"Good story with constant action."
what i liked best was the usage of actual places and people of the time. from divinci to alexander iv! it has a Divinci Code feel to it and still kept an eye on the ending.
there was nothing that really stood out above all else. instead, the story stayed consistant thoughout. from training, to action, to secret codex pages... a real treat to listen to, wondering where the next turn goes!
the narrator was good. his accent matched everything well. a bit monotone throughout the entire story, which was a bit of a drag at times. he didn't do a good job in the action sequences, instead, he trodded along in the same tone as if something mundane was happening.
i knew little about the ASSASSINS CREED franchise. i never played the games but the little that i seen and heard were interesting enough to me. now, i'm the proud owner of the first 2 books in audio format! GREAT STORY!
"the journey began for me by chance..."
the story itself ranks among my favs, twas my first SK book i read. the reading by GG is great also. TOP 10 for sentimental reasons.
roland begins in this book as a cold and calculating killer, he's what every guy thinks he is to themselves and yet what no man can be in real life. tunnel vision to the max!
excellent! his read the DT series is awesome!!!
yes, i probly could have too!
reading/listening to this book isn't gonna be enough. fact is, once done with it-your hooked to the DT series!
"SURPASSED ALL EXPECTATIONS!"
the vast array of characters is great in this book. the story is never boring and nothing is wasted. the fact that a superflu is all to possible (swine flu) helps plenty.....
"SLOW STARTER, BUT LEAVES NOTHING ON THE TABLE"
the way SK takes you through the events on duma key is amazing! slattery's voice separated the characters perfectly.. but by far his rendition of Wireman was the best i've heard for any character in any audiobook... by the end, even i thought wireman was the coolest guy ever just like edgar did!!! all thanks to slattery.
the constant sense of mystery kept my earbuds glued on. always wanting to know more or find out SOMETHING!!!
never heard him before...
