From farmer Joel Salatin's point of view, life in the 21st century just ain't normal. In Folks, This Ain't Normal, he discusses how far removed we are from the simple, sustainable joy that comes from living close to the land and the people we love.

Would you consider the audio edition of Folks, This Ain't Normal to be better than the print version?

Joel narrates his own writing so he knows what he intended to say at each point. He is an entertaining speaker and informative writer.

What other book might you compare Folks, This Ain't Normal to and why?

Along the same vein is "Farm City". Another interesting listen about transformational farming.

The paths of treachery lead Sharpe's company to join the army of Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington, to take on the Mahratta horde. Sharpe must survive the carnage and live to tell the tale of what will be remembered as one of the greatest battles of the 19th century.

I love Napoleonic War/Age of Sail stories and the Sharpe series promises to fill the void left by the completion of Aubrey/Maturin and Alan Lewrie series. It appears Audible has done it again, however, by not stocking the complete list of titles, they have left me hanging. Audible, get your act together and offer the complete Alan Lewrie and Sharpe series.

Captain Jack Aubrey is ashore on half pay without a command, until Stephen Maturin arrives with secret orders for Aubrey to take a frigate to the Cape of Good Hope under a commodore's pennant, there to mount an expedition against the French-held islands of Mauritius and La Reunion. But the difficulties of carrying out his orders are compounded by two of his own captains, Lord Clonfert, a pleasure-seeking dilettante, and Captain Corbett, whose severity pushes his crew to the verge of mutiny.

    Lawrence says: "Great Reader"
    "Best so far"

I am hooked. I travel 15 to 20 hrs per week and have really enjoyed the first 4 books in this series. Simon Vance brings the characters to life for me and I prefer his interpretation. I will continue this series to the end, I expect.
