In the early 1870's, the young state of Texas was struggling to survive. Its vast, undeveloped land of over 260 thousand square miles became a haven for the lawless. Murderers, rustlers and renegade bands of hostile Indians and Comanchero roamed the vast wastelands of west Texas with only a narrow river separating them from the sanctuary of Mexico. One group of dedicated lawmen stood between this element and the law-abiding citizenry - the Texas Rangers. This is the story of one of those men.

Being a huge Louis L'Amour fan I wasn't sure this novel would be as good as it was. I was pleasantly surprised and feel it is as good as or better than any western I've read or listened to.

But when the phone rings and he hears the voice of Hana Arif, the Palestinian woman with whom he had a passionate affair in law school, he begins a completely unexpected journey. Where does Exile rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This has been one of the best I've heard. I am looking forward to more Rick Patterson novels.

What other book might you compare Exile to and why?

This book reminded me of Grisham's legal novels with the addition of political intrigue.

What about Dennis Boutsikaris’s performance did you like?

Dennis's diction was superb and his character voices very well done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The story was hard to stop when started and carried me through many emotional ups and downs. I have the feeling there may be a sequel.

Richard Coulter is a man who has everything. His beautiful new wife is pregnant, his upstart airline is undercutting the competition and moving from strength to strength, his diversification into the casino business in Macau has been successful, and his fabulous Art Deco house on an Irish cliff top has just been featured in Architectural Digest. But then, for some reason, his ex-wife Rachel doesn’t keep her side of the custody agreement and vanishes off the face of the earth with Richard’s two daughters. Richard hires Killian, a formidable ex-enforcer for the IRA, to track her down before Rachel, a recovering drug addict, harms herself or the girls.

Macbeth: A Novel brings the intricacy and grit of the historical thriller to Shakespeare’s tale of political intrigue, treachery, and murder. In this full-length novel written exclusively for audio, authors A. J. Hartley and David Hewson rethink literature’s most infamous married couple, grounding them in a medieval Scotland whose military and political upheavals are as stark and dramatic as the landscape in which they are played.
