The Sookie series is one of my all time favorites. As with all series books I love the anticipation of next installment; but when that release comes and it's less than expected, it's the worst let down...and yes, as a fan I take it personally. I invest my time when I take on a series and I expect the same quality of twists, turns, romances, and humor as previously demonstrated. Dead in the Family fell short of that expectation. This said, if you've invested in the series you'll want to continue but be prepared, it not up to par. What Happened Mrs. Harris?

Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine.

Would you consider the audio edition of Magic Rises to be better than the print version?

Don't know as I've never read the series, only Audio and for the record Renee Raudman ROCKS!

What did you like best about this story?

Everything, anything, you name it I liked it! I can't say, because I love the whole book, love the whole series. The roller coaster ride that "Andrews Squared" takes us through in Magic Rise is non-stop, different and more intense than the other books in a most amazing way!

Have you listened to any of Renee Raudman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

OK, you audio books junkies will get this. Now I am going to go a little off topic but it's important. Renee Raudman "IS" Kate Daniels, she "IS" Curran, she "IS" Barabas, she "IS" Andrea. She does an amazing job with these books and always has. I am so glad she's back.

Audio book producers need to learn, if they have not already, that we Audio Book listener do not appreciate it when our narrators are replaced period! YOU CAN"T DO THAT, NO WAY, NO HOW. We give these books our time and attention. We get attached to characters much more than when reading a book because the narrator has given them a voice and it's not the one from our imagination. She has brought that character to life. Changing the narrator would be like me going from speaking in English to speaking in only Russian, for the rest of my life. It effects the characters we've built in our minds. When narration is done right, they add so much more to a book. In my book, Renee Raudman does it right.

Had she not come back to narrate "Magic Rise" (and I heard there was a chance of that happening) I would have gone out and purchased the paper back book, no more audio for this series. That's how important a narrator is to me. Renee is important to this series and I think Ilona and Andrew get that!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

YES, it made me say, "finally, it's here" and now I will be walking around with my earplugs in my head for the next couple of days!

After 12 years of secret training, Atticus O’Sullivan is finally ready to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth and double the number of Druids in the world. But on the eve of the ritual, the world that thought he was dead abruptly discovers that he’s still alive, and they would much rather he return to the grave. Having no other choice, Atticus, his trusted Irish wolfhound, Oberon, and Granuaile travel to the base of Mount Olympus, where the Roman god Bacchus is anxious to take his sworn revenge - but he’ll have to get in line behind an ancient vampire, a band of dark elves, and an old god of mischief.

If you could sum up Trapped in three words, what would they be?

    Funny,Intelligent, Action.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh, laugh, laugh, Oberon is a hoot. I love the voice of that dog. He has the best one liners and I like the way his mind works. His relationship with Atticus is fun to listen to and even better now that Grommuel (sp?) is apart of it.

    I want more of Oberon!!!!!

Amazing, I am a big fan of the Twilight series. I especially enjoy the reading of Ms. Kadushin. The second book is such an emotional roller coaster and Kadushin does a great job at it and the others. I have nothing but praise for the story(s)and the reader! I hope they use her for the "Edward Version" of the Story"!!!!!

Demons in the Spring is a collection of 20 short stories by Joe Meno, author of the smash hits The Boy Detective Fails and Hairstyles of the Damned. In these stories, oddly modern moments occur in the most familiar of public places.

    Overall

Big disappointment. Try as I may to grasp what was being read I could not. As soon as one story got the least bit interesting it was over and another one dragged its way into my mind. I could never connect with any of the characters. I wish there was some way to get a refund. Note to self never buy a book that has not been thoroughly reviewed!
