When young magicians Carter and Sadie Kane learned how to follow the path of the Ancient Egyptian gods, they knew they would have to play an important role in restoring Ma’at (order) to the world. What they didn’t know is how chaotic the world would become. The Chaos snake Apophis is loose and threatening to destroy the Earth in three days’ time. The magicians are divided. The gods are disappearing, and those who remain are weak. What are a couple of teenagers and a handful of young trainees to do?

High school all-American Neely Crenshaw was the best quarterback to play for the Messina Spartans. 15 years have gone by since those glory days, and Neely has come home to Messina to bury Coach Eddie Rake, the man who molded the Spartans into a football dynasty. Now, as Coach Rake's "boys" sit in the bleachers waiting for the dimming field lights to signal his passing, they replay the old games, relive the old glories, and try to decide once and for all whether they love Eddie Rake – or hate him.

I was so excited when I discovered that Grisham narrated the book himself. His rich Southern voice is so easy to listen to. I really love the books that he has written moving away from the legal world. "Playing for Pizza", "A Painted House", and "Bleachers" have helped me, as a teacher, bring more male students to reading.

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

What made the experience of listening to Deadlocked the most enjoyable?

I think what made the experience most enjoyable was that I had just scene "Magic Mike" in theaters. The opening scene of the book is in a strip club! AWESOME!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sookie...is the epitome of an American heroine! Men want her, and women want to be her!

What does Johanna Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a sweet Southern voice. I really imagine Sookie that way.

If you could take any character from Deadlocked out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Sam...the vampires would probably want me for dinner, and Alcide can't make up his mind. Sam has been there from her from day one!

    Any additional comments?

I LOVE this series! Keep them coming!!!

Critically acclaimed author Margaret Peterson Haddix’s fourth tale from her popular Missing series finds Jonah and Katherine hurtled through time to 1611. Landing aboard Henry Hudson’s ship in James Bay just before a mutiny, Jonah and Katherine struggle to survive brutal weather conditions. They also realize something is wrong. A crucial person has vanished, and the history they remember is drastically different from what they’re experiencing. Will this new version of history replace the real past?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend the book with one warning. Up the speed on your app to 1.5 times normal speed. The story is good, but the narrator DRAGS!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Torn?

The most memorable moment was when you realize time has been split into two different dimensions.

What three words best describe Chris Sorensen’s voice?

    SLOW, That's all!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

NO! I had to listen to the the first half before I realized you could speed up the narration.

    Any additional comments?

I am hoping to find out who Jonah is in the next book, or I may give up on the series.
