While this is the 3rd or 4th book in the Alpha Omega series it can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. It takes the series in a new direction. It also makes you anxious for the next installment of the Alpha Omega series. The narrator does nice job of distinguishing the characters vocally.
This is a good series and this book was as good as the first in the series. Characters had to live with the choices they made and frequently the price they aid wasn't worth the price and the people they wanted revenge on weren't really guilty of the crime. Sometimes people have no control over their actions or actions done in their. My only criticism is it seems some sex scenes could have been left out. They didn't move story forward and actually were intrusive.
The in bone season I discovered a new world. It was a dark and dangerous place for those gifted or cursed with extra senses. There was even beings envading the world of which few were aware. Unfortunately our heroine was caught and sent to a camp run by the other beings. In short she came, she didn't conquer. She did incite a rebellian and escape attempt. In the second she is home but things are worse than she thought. She is unable to overtly warn her world and forced to return to her old life. To make matters worse, she finds herself on most wanted list with her picture on TV hourly and all the people she escaped with on most wanted list, killed or hiding for their lives. She meets old enemies, friends, and those she doesn't know which side they are on. Again, she struggles against the odds and with people who she can't trust. She seems to have won but it may only be an illusion and she is further away from her goal. I can hardly wait for next book. This is one of those series that should be read in order and u wish u had started reading after the series was finished. I am purposely vague on specifics of series because the discovery is a great part of the voyage u take with this author. If u liked Terry Goodkind's books, u should like this series. While they r not alike both r epic novels set in worlds not quite our own but with characters that r lost with world against them but r heroic in their own way. Also things are not always what they seem and when events can not get darker they do.
Warning series can b addicting!
It was good story, nice blend of Greek
Myth and modern romance. It was entertaining and kept u turning the pages.
