This is such a FUN listen series, you have got to get it if you are in the mood to kick back and listen to some awesome, talented voice talents and some mystery, mixed with humor, love, suspense and well british humor. GET the series, you won't regret it. This is one is far my favorite, due to very colorful characters and the the talent of the narrator. You will laugh out loud and identify with the characters!!!

What did you love best about SEAL Team Six?

I could not put the "book" down - the memoir was well written, felt honest, gripping and made me realize again, that without courageous men like our army, or christian men (and women), or strong women believing in causes, and fighting for them, we all would not be were are now.
The book leads you in an unseen world and without disclosing everything you feel that you understand the mind and the honor and sense of duty of the sniper.

What other book might you compare SEAL Team Six to and why?

I haven't read any other books like this, it's my first one. Got it for husband who is in Afghanistan, and because it was daily deal - would have gladly given a credit for it.

Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?

I enjoyed Howard the most - what a tough guy, what perseverance. Mr. Porter did a great job reading the book. Very manly and military like!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes, and I almost did...

    Any additional comments?

Worth a credit - and thanks to all citizens of the free world that fight for us.

If you could sum up Written in My Own Heart's Blood in three words, what would they be?

I have truly enjoyed the Outlander series, and have enjoyed Book 8 very much. Many reviewers have stated that it is repetitive, but I have to say, that it feels like Davina Porter is a friend and she is telling you a story, and when we talk to our friends, don't we retell stories and details to each other? So, that part did not bother me. As to my "WHY?" - I know Mrs. Gabaldon has gotten some heat about profanity used in her books. She explains that they are her characters, and they use the bad language, understood. I have to say, I do understand that soldiers in those days used profanity, especially under the circumstances they lived in, and we today, helas, use it whenever, but this one got a bit too rich in profanity, especially the "cussing trinity" - you know which ones I mean. It grieved me.

My next point was, that why on earth did nobody give Davina German lessons, at least for the stuff she was trying to say. I don't speak a word of Gaelic, and it's sounds wonderful to me what she says, but I am fluent in German and French, and the German was SCHRECKLICH (that means terrible), her French is quite good.

The story was a bit slow, and some important key points in the story could have been addressed sooner and in a bit more detail, but Mrs. Gabaldon has promised Book 9, assuring us she wasn't done telling the story... so I will go with it, hopefully I will live long enough to get number 9 - and the gaps will be closed. (there were some big ones)

Overall, the story is a richly woven, colorful and at times enigmatic tapestry, and stays with you, even when you are done reading or listening. If you are looking or hesitating to start the Outlander series, don't - every book is worth it, you will be enriched. (minus the profanities) and will actually learn quite a bit of history, medical knowledge, herbal knowledge and fall in love with most of the characters.

Some character development was exquisitely done!

What other book might you compare Written in My Own Heart's Blood to and why?

None really, as none of the time travel books out there come close to the Outlander series.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to tell, I don't want to spoil the stories.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made some "European noises" during some of the cussing.

    Any additional comments?

Davina Porter is fantastic, and I am so glad, Mrs. Gabaldon and her continue to work together. Brings the books to live and I so enjoyed it. Hope my review helps a bit, but I would definitely recommend the series, and congratulate both of them and the director.

What did you love best about Ein anständiger Mord (German Edition)?

The way the story was introduced, it was "ein anstaendiger Mord", Die Introduktion ist fantastisch un der Mord macht sogar Sinn, es ist eben ein anstaendiger Mord.

Have you listened to any of Marion Reuter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I haven't. But I really enjoyed her performance. Nein, Ich habe noch nie M. Reuter gehoert, aber Sie war sehr gut!

If you could take any character from Ein anständiger Mord (German Edition) out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    The main character, den Hauptcharacter.

Just when everything at the Poor Relation Hotel seems to be running smoothly, Sir Philip brings in another poor relation, Mrs. Budge. When Sir Philip presents his paramour, Lady Fortescue swears great oaths and says the woman is probably related to half the costermongers in London and certainly does not possess one rich relative. Mrs. Budge does nothing but eat all day and refused to do any work around the hotel. Worst of all, Miss Tonks seems to be taking the romance between Sir Philip and Mrs. Budge quite hard.

Where does Sir Philip's Folly rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

You will finally get to know Sir Folly - not as heartless as he seems to be yet, yet a very very clever, unpredictable man. Wonderful if you can get the book on sale - if not - it is worth a credit.

    Any additional comments?

I would not read this book as a "stand alone book" as the series almost works a bit like a puzzle piece. Try to read this series in order, and if it a fun read, nothing to deep, yet entertaining and will ease your mind. Book harmonizes well with the other books in the series. Narrator is great!

What made the experience of listening to Match Me If You Can the most enjoyable?

The characters are very engaging and the story flowed really well.

What did you like best about this story?

Overall I enjoyed the book - I enjoyed the bantering between the two main characters.

What about Anna Fields’s performance did you like?

I thought Anna did a good job, however, and I know she is a woman, her male voices were not top notch.

    Any additional comments?

I bought the book on sale, so I am glad I did not spent a credit. Did not realize that is part of a series, although I think this book stands well on its own. I did not think it was very realistic that the main character knew all these "important and wealthy people", this did not really add up with her own private and financial life. Good story, but the ending was rather abrupt and not really developed, although not too terribly bad. I would recommend the book if you can get on sale.

What made the experience of listening to The Potato Factory the most enjoyable?

If you read my reviews, you will notice that I don't like predictability. Fear not! This book has so many twists and turns and is so rich in historical details, that you will not be bored, not longwinded, but transported to a rough past. This book is absolutely awesome. So well written!!! Worth the credit(s).

What did you like best about this story?

The richness and the details of story. History became alive. It felt like a thriller with unpredictable characters, unknown circumstances and never heard of traditions from the 1800's. Awesome descriptions. Excellent peek into human nature. What a mind!! Thanks Mr. Courtenay!
I loved the story about the "rat races" - I could not have even have come up with a plot or scheme like that!!

Have you listened to any of Humphrey Bower’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Humphrey Bowers is awesome - he added to the richness and the life of this book. Mr. Courtenay was the creator, yet Mr. Bowers breathed life into the narration.

    Any additional comments?

I am reading second book now, and am looking forward to listen to my book every day. You won't regret the purchase.

As always Diana Gabaldon has done her research. I enjoy the medical background, as well as the historical and human aspects of the stories and also this book.

Professional baker Ramona Gallagher is a master of an art that has sustained her through the most turbulent times, including a baby at 15 and an endless family feud. But now Ramona’s bakery threatens to crumble around her. Literally. She’s one water-heater disaster away from losing her grandmother’s rambling Victorian and everything she’s worked so hard to build.

Would you try another book from Barbara O'Neal and/or Tanya Eby?

No, I don't think so. The writing is good, but the storyline was rather boring - not that problems of the characters are boring, it was just something other writers have covered as well.

What three words best describe Tanya Eby’s voice?

    she was ok.

Do you think How to Bake a Perfect Life needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No

What did you like best about this story?

I love the delicate weaving of the stories told by both women, and that the book was not a "I have already read some similar story". You need to pay attention and you keep wondering what will happen next. This book is a real "page turner". I will read it again! So worth the credit.

What about Morven Christie and Lucy Gaskell ’s performance did you like?

One of best narration I have heard in a long time. Especially Ms Morven Christie. Both ladies did a wonderful job!

Somalia, on the tip of the Horn of Africa, has been inhabited as far back as 9,000 B.C. Its history is as rich as the country is old. Caught up in a decades-long civil war, Somalia, along with Iraq and Afghanistan, has become one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Getting there is a forty-five-hour, five-flight voyage through Frankfurt, Dubai, Djibouti, Bosasso (on the Gulf of Aden), and, finally, Galkacyo.
