NO, the audio version is simply delightful thanks to Katherine Kellgren and her many talents. You will enjoy the audio!
Not really "another" book, but all the books in this particular series are delightful.
I have read all of the Royal Spyness books, and this narrator will not disappoint you.
Yes, of course. I wasn't on the edge of my seat or biting my fingernails, but did want to know what was going to happen. This series is not an in depth mystery book, but a mystery that keeps you wondering if you can figure out the guilty person before the narrator will tell you. But the characters become so familiar to you, and they are seem to leap off the "pages", and you will many a times laugh out loud, I certainly did.
Sometimes, the characters and the stories of this whole series became predictable, but I would still recommend getting the books!! Enjoy them!
It is elusive, yet it is accurate. The title fits perfectly.
I love the delicate weaving of the stories told by both women, and that the book was not a "I have already read some similar story". You need to pay attention and you keep wondering what will happen next. This book is a real "page turner". I will read it again! So worth the credit.
One of best narration I have heard in a long time. Especially Ms Morven Christie. Both ladies did a wonderful job!
I can't tell, I would give it away, but YES they are two or three moments. Love the aspect of the friendship
Get this book, you will not regret it! Well written, interesting, refreshing, heartfelt and just oh so good!
My husband is a real Somalia Pirate Hunter, no I am not kidding. We bought the book in print and on Audible, it is SO true what is really going on. The sadness, the danger, the politics, the mystery and the hardships. If you have watched the movie. Captn Phillips and read this book you will know what our guys are doing to protect all these tankers!!
It is a true story, and I am LIVING it!!
No, the title is just right!
Worth a credit and I would recommend for history teaching as well.
The Forgotten Garden is enchanting and engrossing. It takes you back into a time where things were still in "order", people knew their place, but YET mystery, secrets were just as alive as they are today.
Grace, she knitted the story
No, I did not, but I would recommend it
The book gave me heartburn. The story was really flat - another divorce story - no solutions, no depth of characters.
The only thing Ms. Ephron nailed were the description of the emotions of the characters. Yet there was no spice to the story and some aspects were unbelievable. The only spice given were the cusswords.
I love Meryl Streep - but her performance was just ok.
No reaction, other than it was a credited wasted.
This book had great reviews, so I thought I give it a try. I have read better books about divorces, as tragic as that is, but this one was just mere average. Get the book on sale, don't waist a credit.
The book, although it can be read on it's own, just continues with the story about the Queen always needing Georgie to help with all these naughty royals. Some characters are such fun, they can't be missed, some new characters add a bit of spice. The story flowed well, but a bit of drama and action was missing.
Darcy - because there is not enough of him. Queenie needs to be a bit more polished, but otherwise she is hilarious.
She does a great job. Now and then she reads too fast and her voice gets a bit too loud, but overall - she makes the characters come to life
Love these series, but Rhys needs to give us more Darcy or more action. A bit more drama wouldn't hurt either. Somewhat predictable, but good clean fun, and enjoy reading or listening to this series when I truly want to "switch" off.
If you have listened to the first book "Shanghai Girls" and if you liked that book, this is the sequel. In my opinion, the sequel is even better than Shanghai Girls. You will enter a world that you probably have heard of, but not really "met" in depth, such as Lisa See will introduce you too. This book enrobes part history of PROC, USA and most importantly brings you closer to understand what happens to humans when we are not allowed to be human. The book is very well researched, well written and I could not put my Ipod down! It is not predictable (whohoo)!!
The human aspect, the descriptions of the different characters and that is was not predictable!
When Joy convinces the leader to let her send the package to her mom
Yes, it was - I got up this Saturday morning at 6:00 am , and I finished the remaining story at noon! What will I read next?
Excellent book, not light hearted, but not too academically hard that you can't follow the thoughts.
Yes, I would. The book was rich in details about Chinese culture and history from both countries, China and USA. The characters were believable, their flaws and their good points were creatively painted by the author. The book will let you travel in a past gone time, and you will have a hard time putting the "book" down.
Mei and Pearl towards the end of the book, finally spill all their emotions, their fears, their thoughts and it was very touching.
No, this was my first one. She did a great job!
This book is worth a credit. It is part of the history of the United States and I learned a lot. Give this one a try.
I enjoyed the author's description of people and their feelings. Wish she had elaborated a bit more about the poison(s).
Gabra did a great job and made the characters believable
No, but I still enjoyed the book.
Light read, some action, some love story - not predictable. Would recommend.
I have not read the print version, so I cannot answer that question.
My favorite scene is when Poppy pops into the business meeting and asks the man on a date!
Well the main character was fun
Cute read, light read, narration was good. Wish there was less profanity.
This is my third Kinsella book. I enjoyed the 20 girl and I have your number. However in "Can you keep a secret", the level of profanity is almost unbearable. Story line is predictable.
It is kind of similar to the book I have your number.
NO! Sorry Ms. Reading. Narration is flat, no character, no nice voice timbre, no fluctuations- she is just reading the story.
Just not a great read. Would not recommend this one, despite great reviews.
