Recovering witch Garnet Lacey owns Wisconsin's premier occult bookstore. And a fringe benefit of the job is getting customers like Sebastian Von Traum - piercing brown eyes, a sexy accent, and a killer body. The only thing missing is an aura. Which means he's dead. And that means trouble - something Garnet's a sucker for....

I enjoyed the book and the narration was great. The only problem was that in several places throughout the book there were technical glitches where words overlapped or were just garbled completely.

I will continue with the series. Hopefully the next books won't have issues.

Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer. It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.

Not the usual short teasing start to a series. This was a lengthy and satisfying listen. Suspenseful, original and not filled with any fluff. I like Oliver Wyman's narration, he brings all the characters to life. I will be purchasing more of this series.

STOP. You should not have touched this flyer with your bare hands. NO, don't put it down. It's too late. They're watching you. My name is David Wong. My best friend is John. Those names are fake. You might want to change yours. You may not want to know about the things you'll read on these pages, about the sauce, about Korrok, about the invasion, and the future. But it's too late. You touched the book. You're in the game. You're under the eye. The only defense is knowledge. You need to read this book, to the end. Even the part with the bratwurst. Why?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I loved this book. The narration was excellent. The story line engaging. Imagine a gut clenching adventure through the Matrix while spinning inside the Twilight Zone with Dale Gribble leading the way. I laughed, cried, laughed some more and if David Wong had been standing in front of me when I read the final words.. I would have beaten him senseless with my kindle!! I am recommending this book to all my friends & family. :)

Who was your favorite character and why?

John was my favorite character. Without him the story would have fallen flat.

What does Stephen R. Thorne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His narration was beyond perfect in this book, just as it is in every book he has done. I don't think anyone else could have brought the characters to life as well as he did.

A firm believer in alternative medicine, Catrina's recently deceased grandmother had a tincture or tea to cure everything from sore throats to insomnia. But when Catrina discovers a secret vault beneath the braided carpet in Nana's room, one filled with various artifacts of magic, to say she was befuddled would be an understatement. What secrets had died with her mysterious Nana? And what ones would she discover within this strange treasure trove?

The story is a good beginning to a book but just ends there, nothing more. It is 8 chapters long that could have easily been combined into two. Not worth the money, at least I got it for half price.
