When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

This book wasn???t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't imagine anyone enjoying this narration.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Becca Battoe?

A male for Christian's narration. The voice is almost acceptable for Ana's young, naive sounding voice but using that same voice in a lower octave for Christian's voice makes it sound like she's mocking him. He is obviously supposed to be suave, sexy and powerful and she makes him sound like some dude that tried to hit on her in a bar. She might as well just say, "Durp, durp, durp" when she's narrating his voice.

You didn???t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I don't know if I loved this book or not. The story sounds like it will be a fun, absorbing read...just to find out what happens. Although I already know what happens in the end because some reviewers don't realize that people reading the reviews most likely have not read the book yet!

    Any additional comments?

My most favorite Audible book yet was, "The Help". Not just because it was a good story, but because different narrators were used for the different characters. When the actual characters and their personalities matter as much as the story, they need to be voiced accurately.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

As other reviewers have noted, this book has way too many details that don't contribute to the story. But, anyone who has read these books knows that that is to be expected. Sadly there will be no more books in this series but I want to know what happens next! The characters still have so much to tell.
