"Why is this a bestseller?"
I purchased this book because it was a bestseller. I figured that if it was, it would be good. Boy, was I wrong. Repeatitive and boring. Maybe I just cannot relate to a stupid 21 year old girl. The story had potential but once again the heroine is a simpering idiot. The reviewers who gush about this story, have no idea what a good story is. I cannot believe this is a best seller. Is it to much to ask for something well written and sexy?
"Earl the Alpha"
This book is the third in the series and focuses on a different character than the first two books. I like how the author changes his writing to reflect a more serious main character. I also liked how the main character is insightful and seemingly wise. I think this author is great. Just finished this book today and already have downloaded the next.
"Owen Pitt is the man"
Second book in the series and it just keeps getting better. Action and humor. The author keeps developing the characters and we get to see why the main character has become the man he is today by the relationship he has with his father. I really enjoy this series and will finish the whole series back to back.
"Geek heaven"
Another story of good verses evil. I really enjoyed listening to this book. It really spoke to my inner geek. Guns, monsters and kicking ass. What more could one want? I was so engrossed with this series, I even dreamed about it. For me that means a very engaging story.
"Ok"
This book was ok. It is supposed to be a historical romance. Some of the phrases used by the characters were too modern. I know this is nitpicking but it still caught my attention. Formulaic and ordinary. An ok story, really nothing very special about it.
"Laugh out loud funny"
Syfy funny. Great combo. This is the first book I have done by this author. But it won't be my last. Laugh out loud funny.
"Wow"
So this is a gay romance novel. This is the first time I have listened to one. The sex scenes were great, the plot not so much. I guess I was expecting some kind of end point to the book, it seems the authors are setting up for a series but really didn't care about ending this book. Saying that, one of the characters is having a hard time with whole religion/ gay thing. I think some of the issues he faces, are what a lot of gay people have had to face. I thought that maybe this would be a good book for someone who is struggling with the same issues.
"My new favorite series"
I have had this book in my library for a while now. I had started and stopped a few times and couldn't really get into it. I tried again and boy am I happy I did. The story line is interesting and compeling. I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. When I wasn't listening to the book, I was thinking about the book. I couldn't wait to finish the book and go to the next book. It has been a while since I have felt that way about a series. If you like magic, vampires and shapeshifters with a side of ass kicking, you should enjoy this book.
"more than I bargained for and not in a good way"
When I purchased this book, I thought I was getting only romance. There is more to this book than that. The main character has endured molestation from a brother and 10 years later, she is trying to come to terms with it. Although I don't like my romance with such sad themes, I have to say that this book was well written and insightful. I think it shows how a person could possibly deal or not deal with such an ordeal. If you are looking for something light and fun, this isn't it. If you like your romance with a side of horrible past, this is the one you are looking for.
"Meh"
This is the second story I have listened to by this author. I didn't like the first book and thought it was because of the similarities to Fifty Shades of Gray. But after listen to this book I have now decided that it is the author's writing style I don't like. The plot had potential but the story was so wrapped up in personal angst, that the plot was forgotten and only touched apon briefly. It was a chore to get through this book. I couldn't wait for the book to end.
"A great ending"
I think that Brandon Sanderson did a great job with finishing this book. I wasn't happy with the first book he finished for Robert Jordan. But with this last installment I think that he captured the spirit of Robert Jordan. I was worried about another author finishing a series that I have long loved. But I was happy with the end of this series. No regrets about the this book. Just a mention about the two narrators: I think one would of been better. Switching back and forth between the two was kind of annoying. They didn't try to even get the cadence of each others narrating style down. When I revisit this book again. I will be reading it, instead of listening to it.
