With New York Times best-sellers like Bloodsucking Fiends to his credit, Christopher Moore has developed a devoted cult following. Coyote Blue introduces Samuel Hunter, a young man who's running from his past while being tormented by an ancient Crow God with a talent for mischief.

Mari says: "You Can't Go Wrong with Moore"
    "3 1/2 stars if I could"
    Overall

I have to agree with the other reviews and say this is not Moore's best book. Still it was pretty good. Character development could have been better, but overall I liked it and looked forward to getting back to listening. The narration was very good as well.

  • Bill Baldwin's The Helmsman

One of the few survivors of a League sneak attack on his poor and miserable homeworld of Carescria, Wilf Brim sets out to settle the score. Were it not for the attrition from the war that followed, Wilf would never have escaped his lower-class status and been accepted into the Academy. Now, freshly graduated, young Sublieutenant Wilf Ansor Brim, Imperial Fleet, begins his first assignment, Helmsman of the I.F.S. Truculent.

    David says: "The Helmsman"
    "Not painful, but tedious"
    Overall

I found "The Helmsman" very tedious. It seemed to me to be written as a screen play. Way too much time is used in describing everything (and I mean everything). For example, I don't need to know a physical description of every person on the bridge as Wilf walks in. The plot was pretty predictable and the dramatization is ok, but not great. I gave it three stars because I was willing to listen to the whole thing.

Family storytelling at its most hilarious, the Maynard Moose tales of Willy Claflin entertain all ages. An excellent choice for family car trips, these whimsical retellings excite young imaginations and delight young and old.

    "This is a great listen!"
    Overall

Willy Claflin is a wonderful story teller. I absolutely enjoyed listening to The Uglified Ducky. My 7 year old daughter really liked it too. This selection is recorded live and he gets the audience in to some of the stories. He does great voices to go with his stories and some music too. It was just an all around great time. My only complaint is that there isn't more.

  • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The idealized childhood of this fictional hero, based on Mark Twain's own early life, is filled with robust good humor and high-spirited adventures. Yet there is also an in-depth experience of the central South of the 1840s. While romping through fun-filled fantasy, Tom Sawyer shows how morally complicated real life can be.

Andrea says: "Well worth a listen"
    "Great Narration"
    Overall

This book is a classic and Mart Twain was a great writer. The narration in this is FANTASTIC! Patrick Fraley does a great job of reading this and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This is one of the best audio books I have heard.
