Amazon’s business model is deceptively simple: make online shopping so easy and convenient that customers won’t think twice. It can almost be summed up by the button on every page: Buy now with one click. Why has Amazon been so successful? Much of it has to do with Jeff Bezos, the CEO and founder, whose business strategy and unique combination of character traits have driven Amazon to the top of the online retail world. Originally a computer nerd rather than a businessman, he had the vision to capitalize on the untapped online marketplace for bookselling....

What did you like best about One Click? What did you like least?

I enjoyed the book, it was a good overall summary of Amazon since the start.

I was hoping for more insight and detail regarding the company.

When the U.S. secretary of state's plane crashes while bringing her to a summit meeting in Libya, the CIA, distrusting the Libyans, hires Juan Cabrillo to search for her, and their misgivings are well founded. The crew locates the plane, but the secretary of state has vanished. It turns out Libya's new foreign minister has other plans for the conference, plans that Cabrillo cannot let happen.

Normally I will listen to an entire book, even if it's boring. However, I couldn't finish this book. I suppose I'm tired of these military type characters who are awesome, the best of the best of the best of the best and are happy to let you into their thoughts where they let you know they are the best of the best of the best. They can wipe out an entire army with Swiss army knife and burlap sack...

I tried to suffer through but gave after another description of awesomeness

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Jack Ryan, the former president of the United States, is out of office, but not out of the loop about his brainchild, the “Campus” - a highly effective, counter-terrorism organization that operates outside the Washington hierarchy. But what Ryan doesn’t know is that his son, Jack Ryan, Jr., has joined his cousins, Brian and Dominic Caruso, at the shadowy Campus. While a highly effective analyst, young Ryan hungers for the action of a field agent.

Narrator was good, but the storyline was simple with too many words. I had to laugh some points when describing the Rainbow team. The guys in Rainbow were the best, no hold on they were the Best of the Best because they were marines, hold on, they weren't just the best of the best, they were the best of the best of the best and that's what made them part of Rainbow.... it was laughable.

Anytime Rainbow got involved they got the job done... Impressive ... "Well what else would you expect from Rainbow?"
