Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do? Just how well can you ever know the person you love? These are the questions that Nick Dunne must ask himself on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police immediately suspect Nick. Amy's friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn't true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they aren't his. After reading all the rave reviews over this book, I figured it must be really good. The first part of the book really bored me - I even skipped a few hours. I started listening again in Part 2 and only here did the story grab me. The middle part of the book is really excellent and you are completely pulled into the book and I found myself listening non-stop. The story had such an immense build-up, but the ending was just so unbelievably disappointing! I had a jaw-drop-"no-this-cant-be-the-end"-moment* when I heard the familiar voice "thank you for listening to audible". Even though the story was gripping, I'm not sure I would recommend it due to the awful ending.

I enjoy books that are so long as it gives me time to really get to know the characters and you "live" them for a while. The story was excellent and once you make peace with the fact that not all the accents are accurate, the narrator is also pretty good. Well worth the credit!

I didn't like the male character in this book at all... the whole story is just weird. Didn't even finish the book. It seems like he "forces" himself on her during the love scenes which is very off-putting.

As the mysterious leader of the Bastion Club, known as “Dalziel,” Royce Varisey, tenth Duke of Wolverstone, served his country for decades, facing dangers untold. But as the holder of one of England’s most august noble titles, he must now take on the gravest duty of all: marriage. Yet the young ladies the grande dames would have him consider are predictably boring. Far more tempting is his castle’s willful and determinedly aloof chatelaine, Minerva Chesterton. Beneath her serene façade lies a woman of smoldering sensuality, one who will fill his days with comfort....

The narrator made the 37yr old Duke sound like a 70-yr old which really spoilt the book for me. The story itself was ok - I do enjoy Stephanie Laurens' books in general.

I absolutely loved this trilogy! The way Nora describes the beautiful Irish countryside and with the narrator's excellent Irish accent made me feel like i was in Ireland for a holiday. Each book is definitely worth the credit. Someone rated the 3rd book as "boring" and "didn't even finish it" - which review nearly had me not buying the last book. But i am so glad i did as it was definitely not boring and i loved every second of it!

The only reason why I struggled through this book, is because the story is really nice. The narrator has this habit of ending nearly each sentence on a higher note which makes her sound like she's in pain (or annoyed). Her accents are really excellent though. I wont purchase another book with the same narrator, but will with the same author.
