I really liked this novel with its family drama and likable, well developed characers. And, although it was somewhat of a soap opera, it was an enjoyable listen.

I've read a lot of Alex Delaware books throughout the years. I really loved the early books, but after a while I started getting tired of the series. I decided to take a chance on this new book and was quite pleased. Guilt was nothing spectacular, but a good listen. I will look forward to the next book. I think Alex is back!

I must have read a recommendation somewhere for Little Bee and I put it on my Audible wish list. However, I never chose it for my "next read". I had often seen the book at the bookstore but unfortunately the cover didn't appeal to me, so I let the book stay on my wish list. I finally decided to download it, and was surprised by how engrossed I got by Little Bee, and watching her young life unfold. I was certainly left with a lot to think about, even after the book ended. Chris Cleave did a wonderful job with the dialog and the narrator was great at performing his words. I would highly recommend this book. I'm really glad that I kept Little Bee on my wish list and eventually chose to read it.

These Stephanie Plum books are no works of literature (and I do like well written, well thought out books). But, I am truly sad that I finished Notorious Nineteen because I know that there will not be another book for a whole year!!! I have become friends with Stephanie, Lula, Joe, and Ranger and will miss hearing about them until the next book. I'm speculating that #20 will be the last book in the series and that Stephanie and Joe will elope to Las Vegas, and after a harrowing adventure with some bad guys, will get married and live ever after (maybe not so happily, since they seem to be at odds a good bit of the time! Joe wants a regulation Jersey wife and Stephanie admitted in this book that she's somewhat addicted to the adventure of the bounty hunter life.). Lorelei King is a wonderful narrator and because of her narration and my preconceived ideas of the characters, I decided not to go see the One For The Money movie - I was afraid that the characters that I saw on the screen would not match those that I had in my head!

I had had this book on my wish list for quite a while before listening to it. I guess I hesitated in downloading it because it's written for young adults (and I'm definitely an older adult!) and it sounded like it might be a "downer" book that I would have to be in the right mood to read. How wrong I was! I am so glad that I read it since it gave me a look into the plight of Indians living on the reservations and the success story of one of them. This was a heart warming book that showed a boy's courage and fortitude in the face of difficult, trying circumstances. I have certainly recommended this book to lots of my friends and have even checked Mr. Alexie's website to see if he will be making guest appearances anywhere close to my home. I would surely love to meet this remarkable man.

The Stephanie Plum novels are great to read, but super to listen to. Lorelei King does such a fantastic job of taking Evanovich's wonderful characters and bringing them to life. I can just picture Lula and Ranger and Stephanie and all the other characters. What a great collaboration between author and narrator!

Yes, this book had the same basic storyline as the last 16 books. And, yes I knew who the bad guy was before the book was halfway over. But, I listen to these books for their entertainment value, and I found myself chuckling just like I had in the other 16. Lorelei King does an amazing job with her narration. I feel like I know the characters personally, and would recognize them if I ever was in a Cluck in a Bucket at the same time that they were there buying their fried chicken! And, "the vordo" added just a wee bit more excitement to Stephanie's relationship dilemma.

I enjoyed this novel immensely. The description of the characters and settings was wonderful. McLain paints a vivid picture of the literary scene in Paris after WWI, and how Ernest and Hadley Hemingway fit into it. After reading this fictionalized account of their lives together, I am anxious to read a biography of Hemingway to learn more about this man, as well as re-read some of his books.

I really liked Sarah's Key, and was looking forward to reading this new book. However, I found myself bored with it. The characters never really seemed to come alive, and I found I was just waiting to get to the end of the book to find out the secret. It's not a book that I will recommend to my friends. There are too many other good ones out there!

Having worked in a bookstore, I often passed by this classic book. And, sad to say, I "judged the book by the cover" and decided that it looked boring. When Audible put it on a sale promotion, I decided to go ahead and order it. What a wonderful surprise! I enjoyed My Antonia immensely. I can now see why it is a classic. Willa Cather certainly has a beautiful way with description and the narrator of this audiobook did a superb job of making her words come alive.
